Pronto is the owner of the Lock and Load weapons store working for the slavers at Paradise Falls in 2277.
Background[]
Rumored to be the son of old slaver, Pronto is the sole proprietor of the Lock and Load weapons store at Paradise Falls, taking over after the untimely death of the previous owner due to an apparent weapons mishap, or so claims Forty.[Non-game 1] Pronto receives very little respect from his slaver compatriots.[Non-game 1] He is described as being a "nice guy," which tend to fare poorly in shrewd environment of Paradise Falls.[Non-game 1]
This "nice guy" persona puts him at odds with the rest of the slavers, who supply him with only subpar weapons looted from their raids, while keeping the better loot for themselves.[1][2] As a result, he lacks a proper stock of quality armaments.[3]
A poor selection of weapons to sell, coupled with the danger of being enslaved or hung from the sign at the entrance to Paradise Falls if he tries to protest or take the better loot by force, has driven Pronto to seek outside assistance to improve his store's stock.[4] Apart from weapons obtained from slave runs, Pronto has created some of his merchandise himself, while also dabbling in designing his own custom weapons.[5] Eulogy Jones, the leader of the slavers, shows little regard for Pronto, keeping him in the dark about the bigger slaver runs. Their relationship is strictly business, with Eulogy taking a cut of proceeds earned from the store.[6]
Gameplay[]
During the unmarked quest Economics of Violence, Pronto will ask the player to obtain twenty chinese assault rifles to improve his weapon stock.[7][8] Up to nine rifles are able to be traded at any given time. Once all of the rifles are traded, it will take a full in-game day for Pronto's inventory to update to his new selection. Eulogy Jones will travel to Lock and Load anytime between the hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. to collect profits from Pronto.[6]
Bartering[]
Pronto sells weapons, armor and clothing, consumables and ammunition, and has the ability to repair items. Upon completion of Economics of Violence, Pronto states that he will provide a 20% discount to the player; however, no such discount exists.

Pronto is one of those guys who's always been around, but you can't remember how you met him or when he showed up.
