hello,
So i have a problem that i know isn't this mods problem but i am just wondering if there is something someone knows that could fix it or if this mod itself has a option that could fix it.
So my problem is that when i set up quarry's pretty far away from my house (pretty sure its outside of the loaded chunks around me) my game will run fine when i am not looking in the general direction of the quarries at work. So i look any which way except at the quarry i get 75-100 FPS. but when i look at the quarry, even when its really far away and maybe isn't even loaded, but its still running, my frames drop down to 20 FPS.
I usually play with a view distance of far, and everything in about the medium setting, but i changed most of them to low, and viewing distance to normal but it still drops down to 20 FPS. Ive even had 4 quarries running around my house fairly far away and i didnt have my FPS drop at all. I dont know how to upload pictures that ive taken of what the quarry looks like but when i go over to check it it looks like a whole bunch of the picker arms are all frozen in place so its kind of glitching out.
Locations of places: if it helps. (X,Y)
House (-5,164)
Current Quarry (-150, 426)
Old Quarry (-220,130)
I would like to be able to keep the quarry going and be able to play without having my frames drop to 20 when i look at the quarry.

Well, i'm no expert, but there is either a bug or glitch with Optifine, or there is something serious going on in that direction.
My only advice you (Since I don't even know the most basic of coding) Is to either redownload Optifine, or get rid of anything lag-inducing going on in that direction. There may be redstone, a possible fire going on (Surface lava was made more common) or maybe a jungle? I don't really know, try and inspect it for yourself.
Its the only that in that direction that causes any lag. Without it there i was getting the typical 75-100 FPS. plus its in the middle of a flat plain field.
Also, which OptiFine should i use?
They all seem pretty good and ive tried all of them, just dont know which one i should use.
I have been using this mod and the same texture pack (JohnSmith) for as long as I can remember, but with 1.2 version of this mod I get a weird grass glitch where it is gray-scale, but with another texture pack, such as PhotoRealism 256x, it works fine, anyone know how to fix this? Also when I switch from fancy to fast, the top of the grass stays gray-scale like in terrain.png and the side of the grass turns green like the original light green texture.
Optifine still removes the differently-colored flames from Mogspogs' Colorful Torches Mod, and also causes errors with Mic's Obsidian++ and End Stone++ Mods that cause a torch texture to be used for Jungle Wood. This only occurs when Optifine is present, including when ModLoader (Required for O++), O++, and Optifine are the only mods in an otherwise vanilla .jar file. I've notified Mic as well, but I felt pretty confident this was an Optifine bug given the circumstances.

will you make a Smooth, Standart, and other versions of Optifine...
I know that it takes a bit of work...but I would really apreciatte it, jsut like a lot more of other people...
Tnkx!
Does the custom colors work for anyone? The torch flicker and the greenish tint for Misa's torch light doesn't work. Just making sure if anyone can use custom colors or not.
Maybe the minecraft.jar is already patched with MCPatcher.
Use a clean minecraft.jar
You .jar is probably already patched by MCPatcher.
EDIT_ nm i figured it out thanks

I have it turned to Max FPS.

Turn OFF Antialiasing and Anisotropic Filtering in the graphics card control panel.
I'm assuming A3 > A2 > A?
As in I had the first version he made a couple days ago and now I guess A3 is the most recent of his 1.23 revisions?
