I play on Normal usually, and score 100+ fps... But now, playing on Far/Normal, I score 500+, and hopefully Minecraft will no longer crash for me on Far.
On Tiny, I score over 1000-1100 fps!!
This is a great mod, and I really appreciate your work.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I'm using a GTS 450 1GB and an e7400 Wolfdale Core2Duo OC'd to 3.7 Ghz.
EDIT2: After re-installing the GLSL mod, using 16xMSAA and Vsync with it, Fast graphics, Short render distance, I get 60 fps.
Actually, I get a solid 60fps on any, due to the Vsync. This means that on even Far, your mod lets me score more than a solid 60 fps.
I love you, man :smile.gif:
err.. I love your mod...
EDIT3: With Vsync off, still 16xMSAA, and Normal fog, I get between 80-120 fps.
The new experimental one is GREAT. On normal distance, i get about 20 FPS. (Which is actually awesome, unmodded i would get all of 5-10 on TINY. Damn my video card)
Optimine had helped but not as much as this. Can't wait for compatibility between the two!
Myself I got the classic optifog working with modloader and optimine and i can actually play on normal distance at 20-25 fps, which used to be my tiny rendering distance.
Unfortunately the occlusion stuff impedes performance and I had to switch to classic.
i had the unnoficial optimine, and the CAF integrated graphics mod, and was getting ~20 fps on tiny distance, with that dropping to 5-9 of far. i installed your mod, and am now getting upwards of 60 fps on normal!!!!! this mod works with optimine, but it overwrites CAF mod's one class file. still, definately worth it. i have a dell Latitude e4310, with an i-3 processor, and an intel integrated graphics card, and this mod.
I would like to check this mod out. Miners Helmets used the mw.class file too. So when I load this the game renders improperly and everything is invisible other then mobs. I used this mod back for version 1.3 or 1.2_01 or something like that. So I remember it working great. Oh well.
can someone merge the mw.class of optifog and unofficial optimine? as the other features from optimine give me another 9fps but cannot switch to fancy without crash while this class conflict is not sorted :sad.gif:
cheers
I have both the unnoficial optimine and Optifog, and i am running it on fancy graphics and on far, with no crashes at all...

I do appreciate negative feedback because it shows the areas for further improvement. ;-)
Currently I am playing with the idea of dynamic switching between classic and experimental based on rendering performance. So the mod can always use the fastest rendering options for the current scene.
OptiFog is now compatible with Optimine, please test and report back.
It was a dog to get running, but now is all over. I do not want to see a single line of decompiled java anymore.
Also fixed the rendering of sunset/sunrise on FAST.
Oh wow.
Previously only played with Fast and Smooth Lighting Off.
Tested just before adding the mod.
Fancy, Smooth Lighting ON - 30 - 60 FPS.
After adding the mod - constantly over 140 FPS.
Thank you very much!
By the way, I added the Experimental one.
EDIT: I have a weird bug. There's no sound after installing it.
For me the sound is working, tested both versions.
The mod only modifies the rendering process, should not affect the sound.

Minecraft: vanilla + OptiFog (ex)
Distance: Tiny.
Result: 18-22 FPS
Original: 0-2 FPS
GOD. MY. OH.
Update: oh, optimine 1.4.1 compatible now? Imgonna test it!!1
For me the sound is working, tested both versions.

Upd: Optimine 1.4.1 + OptiFog (ex) = 28-33 FPS
YAY!1
Total: fancy+tiny+nosmooth = 40-45 FPS.
I didn't expect my poor cheap netbook can do that. God bless you, comrade! *tears of happiness here*
