First, of course, for the moment, no compatibility with Water Shader, but there's somebody else working on patches, so I'm not complaining or requesting anything here! :tongue.gif:
But here's my take on the thing. First, my rig:
- Intel Dualcore @ 3.2 GHz
- 4 Gb RAM
- GeForce GT 280
Then, my Minecraft install:
- Minecraft 1.8.1.
- Sphax's PureBDCraft 256x256
- Connected Textures
- Millenaire mod
The result is... amazing!! With the former version of Optifine, i was at 15-20 FPS and had big lags for unknown reasons in some caves (you know, you look one way, it's all laggy and barely unplayable, you stad at the same place but look in another direction and it's fine).
Now, with this new version, I'm at 50-70 FPS!!
I don't know how you do that, but you're a magician! :laugh.gif:

That's kind of what I thought, because I come here daily and you never mentioned anything about spout, I mean I love their idea, and I tested it on my local server, I especially liked the "no zombe's mod" fly mode and permission nodes, but atm it's crap.
I ask because I downloaded B1 earlier today after MT kept giving me a blackscreen. B1 works for me.
So what's the exact situation?

Could you maybe try the classic C version and see if what happens?
I'm using the LSOD fix of C and I crash when an HD texture pack is loaded, and my mods are very similar to your's.
I'll try it out in 8-12 hours. I had a long day and need to get some sleep.
The multithreaded version is currently still buggy for some video cards. Use smooth if you want. I don't have this bug though when i was using MT. So i was unable to replicate it.
EDIT but not related to the problem above: i'm currently experiencing the Texture pack selecting problem.

It seems that the Fast texture pack switching is causing this problem.
This also happens with mipmaps smoothing level change.
Hmm, not so much, after all... My first test, swapping between Sphax PureBD Craft 256x256 and LB Photorealism 256x256, worked fine but then I closed Minecraft, did something else and now, each time I want to swap the texture ingame, the java machine crashes... Guess I was lucky the first time only... :\

The C version can be installed over B if you are not installing selectively (skipping some class files).
The B and C versions are Java 1.5 compatible.
Upgraded to OptiFine 1.8.1_HD_S_C ("Smooth") and I'm running Flow's HD Texture Pack 128x128 just fine. Everything's working great!

B and C versions are Forge compatible, A is not.
The MT is still on A and is not compatible.
The compatibility note shows the compatibility of the base Classic version. The extended S and MT may differ, check their version history.
There is something wrong when switching certain texture packs with Forge installed, investigating.
What happened?

How high should the Void Particles appear? Upper limit could be 128, so they can also be configured at sea level.
Should the Depth Fog also have configurable level? Other ideas?
