David Jelinsky is a contestant from Survivor 46.

Jelinsky's brief time in the game was marked by a tendency to overcommit before giving up at the slightest resistance. His non-committal attitude throughout the first three days cost him his tribemates' faith, and he became the first person voted out of the season.

Name three of your favorite hobbies: Sports (basketball and bowling), trivia/puzzles, Magic/Card games, organization.
List three adjectives that best describe yourself: Passionate, Confident, Intelligent.
How would your friends describe you? My closest friends would say that David Jelinsky thinks he knows everything. He is too smart for his own good. Growing up, he was a hot head and would argue with you until you gave in and told him he was right…but he has matured a lot over the years and understands when he should concede in an argument. He always lends an ear and an open heart when you need it and he always offers the best advice he can.
What risks have you taken in your life to make a change for the better, even if the outcome wasn't planned? Dropping out for one year after high school was a risk that has paid off so far.
What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? I would have to say my literature academic achievements are my proudest accomplishments.
What is something we would never know from looking at you? There are so many things about me that people would never know from first glance. Growing up, I was a theatre kid. I danced professional ballroom for two years when I was 8–10 years old, and then I was offered a ballet scholarship. I'm also a huge Swiftie.
What past Survivor would you play the game most like? Fabio, Sami, Russell, Tyson, and Rick Devens.[1]

Survivor[]

Jelinsky started the game on the Yanu tribe, which lost the Reward Challenge at the marooning and had to nominate two members to complete the "Sweat" penalty task to earn the tribe supplies. He eagerly stepped up to complete the challenge alongside Q Burdette, but the two men quickly realized the sheer difficulty of the task. Fearing that it would not be possible to complete the challenge within the stipulated 4 hours, Jelinsky made the hasty decision to quit, ending the challenge early. This frustrated Q and the rest of the tribe when they found out about Jelinsky's decision. Still, Jelinsky's charisma helped him to secure a four-person alliance alongside Q, Kenzie Petty, and Tiffany Nicole Ervin.

The next day, Jelinsky once again stepped up for an opportunity, this time to go on a journey with the chance of receiving an advantage. The tribe acquiesced and, on the journey, he met Nami's Tevin Davis and Siga's Maria Shrime Gonzalez. The trio played a game where Maria had to decide whether Tevin or Jelinsky had drawn the "vote" card; if she picked incorrectly, the person holding the "skull" card would win an extra vote and she and the third person would lose their votes. Jelinsky drew the "skull" card and initially attempted to bluff his way to success. However, when Tevin truthfully declared that he had the "vote" card and Maria threatened Jelinsky with telling Siga about his deceptiveness, Jelinsky folded in the interest of building a cross-tribal alliance with her and Tevin. While his co-attendees were satisfied, his tribe was disappointed to hear that he had so easily given up his vote and irritated that he looked out for himself rather than the tribe's interest.

At the next day's Immunity Challenge, the tribe had to complete a grueling obstacle course before completing a jigsaw puzzle; yet again, Jelinsky offered to handle the puzzle, but crumbled when put on the spot. This cost Yanu dearly as they were sent to Tribal Council, where Jeff Probst challenged Jelinsky on his refusal to own up to his flakiness, while his alliance decided that Jess Chong's tenacity was more valuable than Jelinsky's loyalty. By a unanimous 5-0 vote, Jelinsky became the first person voted out of the season.
