Acceptable vs Unacceptable Images

Acceptable Images Unacceptable Images
  • Images related to the series and taken directly from the author, publisher or any other official source.
  • Colored images from the manga are permitted, however they must be from the official source. Panels that have been colored from fansites or any other source are not permitted.
    • Black-and-white panels are generally favored, however, if the colored panel contributes a better visual representation of the subject, then it can be used instead (e.g. images used to showcase Demon Slayer Marks).
  • In the case of the manga, images should be uploaded with no text in speech bubbles. If there is text outside of a speech bubble that would need to be redrawn, the raw (Japanese) version must be used.
    • Only the text outside of a speech bubble in a raw version shouldn't be erased. The text inside a speech bubble must still be erased.
  • In the case of the anime, images should not have subtitles, watermarks, or editor credits.
  • Only .gif or .png file extensions. This is the standard requirement for the wiki system, and many file extension types (such as .BMP) are not uploadable.
  • Collages.
  • Fanart of any form, for any reason.
  • Images unrelated to Kimetsu no Yaiba.
  • Images with improper filenames.
  • Files in any other format other than .png or .gif.
  • Images with watermarks.
    • The exception is if it is an official watermark.
  • Images with potential spoilers until the official chapter/volume is released.
  • Images for your profile should not be uploaded to the wiki. Please upload them to another image sharing site and import them here.
  • Nudity and any other kind of image that shows explicit scenes, even if it is from an official source, according to Fandom's Terms of Use.
  • Duplicate images.
    • If you find a duplicate image, please mark it with {{Delete}} in the file summary and include the filename of the duplicated image.
  • Fake images.
  • Images you then don't use.

Uploading Images

When you upload an image to this wiki, please provide the minimum necessary information:

  • Descriptive Filename: Files should be named to outline key elements that occur in the image. For certain files, there are specific naming conventions:
    • Chapter and Volume Covers: Chapter covers should be the full, raw page with speech in text bubbles erased and named as shown: Kimetsu no Yaiba CH#/V#.png
      • The official English volume cover should have "EN" appended after the volume number.
    • Episode Infobox Images: Images used in episode infoboxes should always follow the same naming scheme: please see episode 1 for an example of this.
    • Character profiles: Image galleries all have a section dedicated to containing a profile of the character's appearances, and images should be named accordingly and specific to that character. See Tanjiro's image gallery for examples of how to name these separate appearances.
    • If there is an image that has potential to be used but is improperly named, please add the {{Rename}} template to its file summary.
  • Licensing: The Fairuse template should be added to every image you upload that is from an official source. It can be added by selecting "Fair use" in the dropdown licensing menu below where the file is renamed before you upload it, or through manually editing it in by writing {{Fairuse}} in the file description after it's been added.
  • Categorization: After you upload a file, please add the appropriate categories via the button at the bottom of the file page or source editor. These categories should include which characters are in the image, and which chapter/episode you took the image from.
  • Image Gallery placing: Please add uploaded images to each respective image gallery of the character(s) in the images, unless one such character does not have an image gallery. This prevents duplicates from being uploaded.
    • Images from the anime with untidy aspect ratios (example), episode collages, and colored manga panels (example) are the only exceptions to this rule and should remain outside of character galleries. This is due to them messing with image spacing/aesthetics and making galleries look untidy. However, with the exception of the collages, they must still have the appropriate character and chapter/episode categories. If you're unsure if an image you've uploaded should be added or not or have any further questions regarding this point, please contact an administrator.

Consequences

Images that do not fit to the "Acceptable Images" list detailed above will be removed or replaced. If an individual is found to have continuously violated the image policy, they will be given a single warning. If the same individual continues to disobey the policy, the user will potentially receive either a temporary or permanent block from the wiki, depending on the extent of the violation.

In more severe cases, such as a breach of Fandom's Terms of Use, the offending user will be blocked immediately and all offending images removed.

If there is ever uncertainty over whether or not an image follows the guidelines, do not hesitate to contact an administrator if you have any questions or concerns.

These rules are subject to change any time without prior notice. Any further issue not stated here is up to the discretion of the wiki's staff team.
