Well, people always talk about Vault City taking over to get our gold. Or one of the families in New Reno getting everyone hooked on their dope in order to take over. Or even the NCR wanting to annex us. I tell you, the NCR's our best bet - but they're all just out for our gold.

Marge LeBarge is the owner of the Kokoweef Mine in 2241.

Background[]

Born on the edge of Lake LeBarge, Marge LeBarge is a burly middle-aged woman with an air of authority constantly surrounding her. She is a strong woman in charge of a typically male enterprise - a gold mine.

She is comparable to Dan McGrew in amicability, although their political views do not quite coincide - LeBarge loathes New Reno's violent, thuggish nature and believes that annexation by the NCR is the best bet Redding has. However, she is also a realist and understands that it is just the least bad option - everyone's out just to get Redding's gold, not caring about its inhabitants.

Quests[]

  • Find the excavator chip: Marge is one of the three power players in the town - selling the excavator chip to her and either not giving the Jet antidote to Doc Johnson or killing him afterward, will ensure that NCR annexes Redding, instead of New Reno or Vault City.

Other interactions[]

  • She is also an excellent source of gossip.

Notes[]

If the excavator chip was sold to Dan McGrew, Marge claims he supports the NCR by stating they are "prissy buggers".

Appearances[]

Marge LeBarge appears only in Fallout 2.

Behind the scenes[]

Her name is a reference to the well known poem The Cremation of Sam McGee by Robert W. Service. In the poem the narrator cremates the character on the "Marge of Lake Lebarge".
