Jackie was a member of the U.S. Army stationed at the Hopeville Missile Base before the Great War.
Background[]
Jackie lived in Hopeville, and was disgruntled with disturbances in her residence building which often made her unable to sleep for more than two hours per night. Though her landlords claimed it was simply due to knocking pipes, as the primary operator for the Hopeville Missile Base's safety protocols, she contended that there would be a major accident eventually if her situation continued on like this.[1]
The later additional presence of earthquakes only led to further complaints, not least for how Commander Devlin attempted to downplay them as "minor and nothing to worry about." Discontent with what she viewed as government incompetence, she even floated the possibility of moving to Canada after her term.[2] Following a particularly heavy earthquake, she intended to request a transfer out of Hopeville, but was interrupted by either another earthquake or the beginning of the Great War.[3]
