"Some Enchanted Evening" is a song originally written for the 1949 musical South Pacific by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II.

A version of the song performed by The Castells in 1963 is featured in the Fallout TV series episode "The End", first during the dance at Lucy and Monty's wedding, and then during the raider massacre in Vault 33.

It is also included on the official Amazon Music playlist "Music from Fallout" promoting the series.[1]

Lyrics[]

Who can explain it? Who can tell you why?
Fools give you reasons, wise men never try

Some enchanted evening
When you find your true love
When you feel her call you across a crowded room
Then fly to her side
And make her your own
For, all through your life, you may dream all alone

Some enchanted evening
You may see a stranger
You may see a stranger across a crowded room
And somehow you know
You'll know even then
That somewhere you'll see her, again and again

Who can explain it? Who can tell you why?
Fools give you reasons, wise men never try

Notes[]

The Castells version featured in Fallout omits one of the original verses in the musical:

Some enchanted evening
Someone may be laughin'
You may hear her laughin' across a crowded room
And night after night
As strange as it seems
The sound of her laughter will sing in your dreams

It also omits these lines at the end of the original song:

Once you have found her, never let her go
Once you have found her, never let her go
