Lyrics[]

Mom, I won't go far tonight
I won't be out too late
Got five dollars in my jeans
And I got me a brand new date

She says "Henry! Leave that gal alone
She's not for you, she won't be true.
You better stay at home"

Honey, won't you marry me
Pops got lots of dough
Today I'll follow him to his shoes
And then we'll make a go

But she says "Henry! Leave that gal alone
She's not for you, she won't be true
You better stay at home."

Well my mama, she was right
All we do is fight
She said "Now son, you better play it cool
For me, I was a fool"

She says "Henry!" (I hear ya!) "Leave that gal alone
She's not for you, she won't be true.
You better stay at home"
