“An image of a singer. Obviously, very old. The image has a felt coating that is still in good condition.”
The fuzzy painting, a genuine Velvis,[Non-game 1] is a miscellaneous item in Fallout and Fallout 2.
Characteristics[]
The painting is a framed portrait of Elvis Presley[Non-game 2] on black velvet.[1]
Locations[]
Fallout[]
- One can be found at the Alien Ship special encounter.
Fallout 2[]
- Several exist in Fallout 2 in various locations, such as in the Golden Gecko bar in Klamath behind a locked door.
- In one of the bookshelves in Ghost Farm's underground settlement of Slags.
- One is in Eric's home in Broken Hills Residential.
- In the wooden bookshelf on the right of Orville Wright's room in New Reno.
- In possession of Doc Jubilee, once obtained from Saltbeef Bob. This version has the map to Vault 13 hidden on it.
Notes[]
- The official Fallout 2 guide states that the image is on velvet fabric,[Non-game 1] but the in-game description states that the fabric is felt.[1]
- In Fallout 76, Brother Scarberry mentions investigating a light which fell from the sky, and finding only a fuzzy painting of a man in a blue shirt.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
- In the real world, Velvet Elvis paintings were a common 20th century kitsch novelty.
- Their association with aliens in Fallout alludes to conspiracy theories regarding Elvis being kidnapped by aliens, an unpopular but infamous subset of conspiracy theories relating to Elvis sightings.

This is a genuine Velvis—a portrait of a popular entertainer on velvet fabric. Trés chic.
Cost: $300" - ↑ Fallout Bible 8: "Easy gold - this doesnt help much, but its a start. Look in the pot in aunt morliss' tent and get $100! This isn't much, but in the beginning of the game it helps. There is also a shovel outside her tent. In klamath, look in the golden gecko. There is a closet with a locked door, and if you pick it, you get an elvis picture worth $300! Again, good money in the beginning of the game. Fuel cells - in vault citys vault, there is a vent on level two that rattles. Look in it for some microfusion cells."
