I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW BORING THIS PLACE GETS, CHOPPING UP THE LANDSCAPE AND EVERYTHING IN IT.Doctor Klein

The hazmat testing ground is a location in Big MT in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Old World Blues.

Background[]

Prior to the Great War, the hazmat suits developed by the staff of the Z-43 innovative toxins plant were put through testing to ensure their ability to protect against various toxic substances that were also conceived there.

Many of the produced suits were eventually sent to the Sierra Madre at the behest of Frederick Sinclair to help protect the Villa construction workers against an unnatural toxin seeping into the city. Unbeknownst to both the workers and the Z-43 staff, the suits were an experiment following up on an experiment since the toxin was also the result of Big MT's science gone awry.[1] One single suit was left in a storage pod within the facility where it remained for the next 200 years.

Layout[]

Situated directly east of the Think Tank in the cardinal east side of Big MT, the location consists of ruins from a partially destroyed building. Irradiated puddles can be seen in the lowest level of the building where the hazmat suit can be obtained. The whole building is irradiated and approaching it will incur 1 rad per second.
