Legion centurion armor

The Legion centurion armor and centurion helmet are a set of armor in Fallout: New Vegas.

Characteristics[]

By far the strongest set of Legion armor, equipping the full set of both the armor and helmet grants 23 Damage Threshold, only 1 point less than that of the NCR Ranger combat armor. As a trade-off, however, it is also one of the heaviest sets of medium armor in the game at a Carry Weight of 35 pounds, equal to that of the Gannon family Tesla armor.

Visually, the armor appears to be composed of pieces drawn from various sources, likely as trophies of battle:

• The helmet of a super mutant brute, polished and modified with a centurion's frill.
• The right pauldron and forearm of a suit of T-45d power armor.
• The left forearm and hip plates from a set of NCR Ranger patrol armor.
• The chest piece from super mutant armor.
• The shin guards and boots from a set of combat armor.
• The gloves from a set of leather armor.

Locations[]

• Caesar's Legion safehouse - A full set can be found on one of the three beds if patch 1.2.0.31x is installed. Requires a Liked or higher reputation with Caesar's Legion.
• Camp McCarran - In the interrogation room on the west end of the terminal building, Silus is wearing the armor part.
• Cottonwood Cove - Aurelius of Phoenix wears the full set. One can pickpocket his armor very early in the game by reverse-pickpocketing a fully repaired Brotherhood of Steel armor on him found on dead BOS soldiers in the wasteland. Since BOS armor requires training, it's useless to the player character at the beginning of the game, but Aurelius can equip it.
  • Releasing the radioactive barrels during Eye for an Eye will also kill him. One can then loot his body for the armor afterward.
• The Legion centurions that spawn during the Second Battle of Hoover Dam wear the armor, and sometimes wear the helmet as well.
• Full sets can be found on at least one member of a group of legionary assassins with patch 1.4.0.525.
• Dry Wells - Gaius Magnus wears the helmet. Requires sending the nuclear missiles to target Legion territory solely or Legion and NCR together during The Apocalypse.

Notes[]

• The Legion centurion armor is considered one of the rarest non-unique armors in the game, as there are only two fixed locations for the full set prior to the final quest. At release, the helmet was only worn by Aurelius of Phoenix and by the Legion centurions spawning at Hoover Dam. With patch 1.2.0.31x, a full set appears in the Caesar's Legion safehouse. With patch 1.4.0.525, high-level legionary assassins can spawn with at least one wearing the full set.
• If worn by a female character, the T-45d pauldron will be upright rather than folded down.
• During the ending slides, if the Legion won the Second Battle of Hoover Dam and Caesar died during Et Tumor, Brute?, Legate Lanius is shown wearing the centurion armor rather than his unique Legate's armor in Slide 2.
• In Fallout: New Vegas Official Game Guide/Behind the Bright Lights & Big City, an illustration depicts the armor set as being created via a mashup of parts from different sources such as a super mutant's helmet and chestpiece, one gauntlet and pauldron from a set of Brotherhood T-45d power armor, combat armor boots, one armband and glove as well as waistband utility pouches from a set of Ranger patrol armor, and the shoulder pauldron from the armored Vault 21 jumpsuit.

Bugs[]
