I have no such error(s). It must be an incompatibility with another mod.
i don't know i've always used the same mods: treecapitator, rei's minimap, modloader, inventory tweaks and obviously optifine, i'll try downloading again
Great mod one question though are you going to make a standerd and smooth not conected to ultra? because I don't have a multi-core laptop or what ever multi-core is used for just a question not trying to push or anything I love opitfine
The settings are put at Smooth in the beginning so you don't have to worry about not having multicore processor
First of i noticed Modloader giving trouble.. So I installed it without modloader.
Went from 5 fps on short to 30-50 fps on normal.
That's what keeps minecraft running on my computer.
I really can't play without it.
Love,
Me.

"For the sake of humankind, I forsake my humanity." ~ Gantz.
I started with a fresh install of Minecraft 1.3.1, ran it, pressed F3, saw 34 frames per second. I shut down Minecraft.
I opened "minecraft.jar" with 7zip, and deleted the "META-INF" folder. I opened up "OptiFine_1.3.1_HD_U_B1.zip" with 7zip and dragged the contents to my "minecraft.jar".
I ran Minecraft again, pressed F3, saw 73 frames per second. ZOMG! Well done, guys!

Now the whole world stands on the brink, staring down into bloody hell. All those liberals and intellectuals and smooth talkers - and all of a sudden, nobody can think of anything to say.
I'm on a mac- I get no major FPS boost (maybe 5fps).......but I get flashing textures as textures load. Like strobing- just parts of buildings or landscape. Anyone else seeing this?
I tried to install the Multicore version on a fresh 1.3.1 minecraft.jar on Linux. However, upon installation I get this exception:

I cant seem to find the "smooth version" of the mod...any help mates?I cant seem to find the "smooth version" of the mod...any help mates? for 1.3.1 that is...
Holy crap. On my chunk loading test map I was never able to get over 15-20fps and with horrible shuddering and many many pauses, even with the best settings I could get. Now, 60-40fps without not even one single hiccup. Whooooo!
Too bad about the draw distance though. And I really don't care for the new flushing system, at all. Man, if you can get those worked out things would be all good.
Hey MineCraft coders? Why oh why did you do this??
If anybody is interested the map I was talking about is linked below. It has 3 pretty large buildings and one huge one that's pretty hard with chunk loading. Divinus Concientia
Thank you, just thank you for updating, i play on a gaming laptop, and before the optifine mod it was almost impossible to play minecraft w/o lag, now i can once again say hello to 60-80 fps
Can someone help me? My connected textures won't work. This happened even with the 1.2.5 version of Optifine when I had it. And clouds won't show up. And I keep getting a crash on my game every 5-6 minutes depending. The crash report changes everytime too. I don't know if it's Optifine causing it though because I'm not that good at Java coding.

I'm pretty sure your minecraft.jar has been patched with MCPatcher...
Start with a clean minecraft.jar.
The settings are put at Smooth in the beginning so you don't have to worry about not having multicore processor
oh yeah i forgot, dumbass me lol thanks

Any idea what I should do?

Just make sure you install optifine AFTER modloader
