Pocket edition iron door glitch[]

Breathable space underwater? Not so.[]

The article says "The rest of a door's space can be moved through freely and provides a breathable space if placed underwater."

This isn't true, at least in Bedrock edition 1.7 and likely before then too. I don't play Java edition, but I am wondering doors still can be used this way in the Java Edition? Or did this characteristic of doors disappear with the aquatic update?

In Bedrock, I observe that a door placed underwater in is just a door underwater. It won't provide a breathable space if placed in a water source block. While flowing water won't go into a door's space, a door in still water won't provide a breathing space. ~Amatulić (talk) 00:54, 24 November 2018 (UTC)

It is true that doors can be waterlogged in Bedrock Edition but not Java Edition. It has been edited to match the game.

Seems like everything can be waterlogged in Bedrock. Doors, signs, ladders. None of those Java Edition methods work in Bedrock. The best thing I can come up with is to build structures from falling sand blocks and hollow them out.

In fact that's how my son and I are planning to attack an ocean monument: fill the top part with sand, dig down to the prismarine and mine a hole through it, then shoot arrows through the hole when the upper-chamber elder guardian passes by. Then we can dive in and risk death to get the sponge it drops. We'll likely build a furnace, a chest, and couple of beds on top of the monument to respawn there in case we are killed after storing our valuables in the chest and diving in naked to get the sponge. Then we'll use the sponge and the furnace to gradually dry out the inside of the monument. ~Amatulić (talk) 05:41, 24 November 2018 (UTC)

Flamable or not?[]

Which is correct? I think one of them should be corrected.

In the summary, "Wooden: No, but catches fire from lava".

In Behavior section, "Lava can create fire in air blocks next to wood doors as if the wood doors were flammable, but the doors will not burn up" BSkyWcloud (talk) 12:51, 11 February 2019 (UTC)BSkyWcloud

The acact same thing as I said on the trapped chest page: They say the same thing: catches fire, but can't be destroyed by it. FVbico (talk) 12:57, 11 February 2019 (UTC)

When were doors added?[]

I believe you're reffering to PE 0.1.0. As you can see in the History section, doors were added in 0.2.0. － 114.37.179.84 14:54, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

switch control[]

Hi Guys,

Can you help me please? Here is my question:

- I installed an iron door in my house from my Minecraft city. - I now want to control this via a button or a pressure plate, - but: Then (after I’ve pressed the button or the pressure plate) the door either no longer opens (only if it is closed) or no longer closes (only when it is open).

Answer to this problem or question would be very nice.

Unsure if I found a minor bug[]

I found a functional iron door at a stronghold that has a cavity immediately below it. It's effectively a good trapdoor, because the cavity isn't visible on the side I approached from. So it's as if the door were connected only by the hinges. Anyway, point is that despite the player only being able to place a door on top of a block, the game can spawn doors in the air.
