Note for when Allay first comes out[]

To add to the page (I will forget)

Bedrock Edition
1.18.10beta 1.18.10.26allay and allay_spawn_egg IDs are added to the game and referenced in the Bedrock Beta Addons Documentation.

References for Gallery Images[]

Why are there are links to the original Tweets for three of the gallery images? As far as I know, no other article puts references for screenshots (except for developer screenshots). SLScool 06:26, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

"every image on every other page should include a reference as otherwise that means that the wiki is stealing images and screenshots without giving credit"
That's a fair point, but if the goal is to give credit for images, then we should do what some of the articles on this wiki already do: put credit on the file pages themselves (e.g., {{Information}} above {{License Mojang}}). It's where most people think to look when they wanted to read details about images. This also prevents the reference section on the article from turning into lists of image contributors and removes the hassle of adding references to lots of images. SLScool 20:39, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
I agree, credit should go into the file pages, there's no need to bloat the reference lists for mundane screenshots.--Capopanzo (talk) 15:45, 11 March 2022 (UTC)

"Allays can pick up similar types of the item given to them. If an user give it a certain colored wool, it will also pick up different colored wool."[]

This is actually wrong, what happens is...

Allays pick up items with the same ID as the item given, in Bedrock Edition, Allays can pick up any color of wool when given a wool block since all wool blocks have the same ID with different metadata, this also mean they'll not always group the items the same way, for example, they'll group Stone, Andesite, Diorite, Granite, Polished Andesite, Polished Diorite and Polished Granite together, but they don't group Stone Slabs with Andesite, Diorite, Granite, Polished Andesite, Polished Diorite and Polished Granite slabs.

Allay dancing animation[]

Someone, please add the dancing animation render of the allay in this wiki, thank you!

Phantoms are afraid of Allays[]

Disregard, my phantoms were just bugged, had nothing to do with my allay.AndAnd25256218 (talk) 01:35, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

Allay Chances of Spawning in Pillager Outposts[]

People say it's Rare. We can discover this By spawing in Pillager Outposts Multiple Times. And Find an Allay Trapped in a Pillager Outpost Cage.

I just found an outpost with 5, yes 5 Allay cages. It doesn't appear to be any more or less rare than any other outpost feature. It's weight (at least on Java) seems to be the same as the other similar features (golem cage, empty cage, target, etc.). - AD OffKilter (talk) 01:34, 8 July 2022 (UTC)

Allay Can't Go Into Water[]

Was playing around with Allays and although they can't go into source blocks of water, flowing water is okay and they can pass through it just fine.

Allays don't follow players if their item is removed[]

Allays stop following their favorite player once their item is removed-- true for both bedrock and java, I tested it. (The favorite player is removed from their nbt data) At least in java, they will still keep a favorite note block, however. 75.168.79.47 16:57, 29 June 2022 (UTC)

Allay holds leads and named name tags on bedrock[]

Brought an allay to my base, named a name tag "bobby" but he just holds it, even tried using it on him while crouched. also holds leads.

99.249.2.114 22:49, 7 July 2022 (UTC)

Comment You are correct. This must be a Java only behavior. - AD OffKilter (talk) 23:25, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
Comment Actually, it's more complicated than that right now. The preview version allows name tags to name an Allay, but leads are still given to them. - AD OffKilter (talk) 23:32, 7 July 2022 (UTC)

Allay sounds changed in Bedrock Edition[]

Why was an Allay sounds was changed at the lastest version of Minecraft Bedrock Edition? The Minacraft Wiki said to us need to add a topic about the allay sounds was changed in Bedrock edition.

Allay texture[]

This is a minor thing but could be interesting trivia I guess. The texture for the allay has some parts of it semi-transparent, specifically the edges of the wings and the inner layer of the body. However, the game is unable to render them as such so you will not see that effect in-game. – Unsigned comment added by Andrew-RTD (talkcontribs) at 08:02, 27 August 2022 (UTC). Allays and water: Allays can go up a water chute but they can not go down the water's surface. This is a water trap for allays.--67.34.75.232 15:46, 28 August 2022 (UTC)

Advancement "Birthday Song"[]

The category or referred to as "parent" here is wrong. The "parent" is the "Husbandry" category, but as of right now it says "You've Got a Friend in Me" which is the other advancement. – Unsigned comment added by AngelayXV (talkcontribs) at 08:48, 26 September 2022 (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~

Clearly you did not look at the image above the table on the Advancement page, which clearly shows that the parent of "Birthday Song" is "You’ve Got a Friend in Me". The table correctly identifies as such. BDJP (t|c) 11:28, 26 September 2022 (UTC)

MOBGRIEFING GAMERULE[]

Allay's will NOT pick up items if the gamerule "mobgriefing" is set to fasle, this is nowhere on this page and I think it is a VERY important thing that should be added as soon as possible. I was looking everywhere for reasons my Allay's weren't picking up items, and then I had an epiphany and realized this was the reason. Though, I think it's kind of stupid it's under that gamerule at all. – Unsigned comment added by CoolChuckles (talkcontribs) at 02:26, 22 October 2022‎ (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~

No mobs pick up items when mobgriefing=false. This it true of all mobs that pick up items, not just allays. When mobgriefing=false, mobs cannot change the environment. Zombies don't pick up items, piglins don't pick up gold, villagers don't pick up food, etc. The allay is just one more mob that falls under this rule, which applies to all mobs. This is clear from the game rule article. Amatulic (talk) 22:25, 22 October 2022 (UTC)

Allay cool down is 5 sec not 3[]

The behavior section notes that the Allay, after dropping off items, can't pick anything up again for 3 seconds. This is actually 5 seconds. I don't seem to be able to update this but it should be updated.

According to at least the Java sources, the cooldown is 60 ticks, which is 3 seconds. - AD OffKilter (talk) 04:42, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

Why is there so much information on a mob that didn't even win?[]

It feels like you're making a lot of this stuff up because you're angry that the Glare won, and banning anyone who tries to oppose you. – Unsigned comment added by CeresTheDwarf (talkcontribs) at 10:50, 22 June 2023 (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~

The allay won fair and square PotatoMan3525463 (talk) 11:11, 22 June 2023 (UTC)

No it didn't, stop lying – Unsigned comment added by CeresTheDwarf (talkcontribs) at 15:31, 22 June 2023 (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~

It's rather the opposite: you're angry that the Glare didn't win. 2021's Minecraft Live mob vote result shows that the Allay won, not the Glare. That is the official truth and, accordingly, the Allay was added to the game. Take the comments that the Glare won elsewhere. This is not the place for that. DarkShadowTNT (talk) 15:54, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
Ye the allay did win. RIP glare PotatoMan3525463 (talk) 16:09, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
