Pigstep Trivia[]
I'll summarise my points so it's easier to continue the conversation here.
1) They are the exact same sound, that is a fact. 2) it is the sound of the first second of the song and the 'beat drop', aka the most memorable and iconic part of the song arguably, if the sound were the same but it was a random part of the song this would be a different story, but its not. 3) both the golden piglin armor and pigstep are based on piglins, therefore there is a reason the golden piglin armor would have a reference to the song, if this were a different piece of armor it would be a different story, again, its not.
Also, although it's not confirming anything, this has a been an accepted fact in the community for nearly 2 years, why remove it now? This is not the type of thing you need confirmed by a dev, there's a point where its so obviously correct that getting developer confirmation shouldn't be a requirement. There is no 100% confirmation, but in my opinion saying this is a coincidence is such a huge stretch that you'd need a confirmation that it isn't a reference. I will ask Gartzke about this when he comes back, until then the wording can be changed to what I changed it too. HMPilatus (talk) 23:24, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
- I am not convinced of your point #1. I have made a lot of music. That sound is a common synthesizer sound available on many keyboards and sound libraries. It is just as likely a coincidence. Your opinion that it is exactly the same sound doesn't make it a fact. The fact that a problematic bit of content has been in an article for 2 years is irrelevant. There is a lot of stuff on this wiki that should probably be removed. And trivia sections should be eliminated or reduced. - I agree with Amatulic that the sound similarity is too speculative to mention and that trivia sections should be reduced drastically. However, I do disagree in a general sense about how things should not be mentioned if it is so obvious. The purpose of a wiki is to document everything related to the subject that wiki is dedicated to.Drour1234 (talk) 17:07, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
