Jessup-Chance relation[]
Is there a source for Jessup and Chance being related? AllYourFavorites! (talk) 00:04, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
In All Roads, Benny tells Jessup "You deal with him (Chance) -- He's your friend". Jessup gets angry at this and corrects Benny by calling Chance his "family". All Roads doesn't have numbered pages (or at least my edition doesn't) but this exchange takes place just before Chance's flashback to Bitter Springs if that helps. - Hm. Benny says "Khans carry their own. You deal with him - he's your friend," but it seems like he's referring to the Khans as a whole when he says "your." He's not only addressing Jessup, Jessup just happens to chime in and say "family." To me, that reads more like Jessup saying all Khans are "family," in the way that a faction is "family." That may be true but I've always taken Jessup's assertion literally, especially with how their relationship is developed over the course of the comic with how much Jessup is looking after him specifically, it just made sense. - It may be worth noting on the page but not go in the infobox for either characters. Something like "When Benny refers to Chance as the Khans' friend, Jessup ambiguously corrects him by saying that Chance is family, though it is unclear if his assertion is meant to be taken literally." - I've made the changes to Jessup and Chance's pages. I think that's the best way to approach things when there's a rather ambiguous situation, just present the facts and let the reader draw their own conclusions. AllYourFavorites! (talk) 00:43, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
