Why the Khans?[]

The Khans are my favourite faction in the whole Fallout series and I really enjoy seeing how much they change between games. I think their development is really strong and they have a narrative throughline that I feel the writers don’t always capitalise on. Here we have this group whose introduction to use involves stories of their leader, Garl Death-Hand, killing his own father and abusing his son, and generations later their leader is a beloved man whom all the Khans call Papa and talk about very sweetly. It suggests a drastic unseen change in the background. Not to mention how the Great Khans themselves subvert a lot of expectations about Raiders that other games have built up. The Khans have a robust government, law enforcement, a former alliance with the Followers of the Apocalypse, and care for their sick and elderly, all things that one might not expect from a group of raiders. They're not by any means the good guys, but they're certainly changing for the better.

Who's your favourite Khan?[]

That’s a tough one, I’d have to say Regis. I like how sweetly he talks about the other advisors, almost as if he remembers them as children and how surprisingly mild-mannered and diplomatic he is, considering other Khans like Jack and Jerry talk about being scared of him. I also like how he frets over Papa’s mental state and is perceptive enough to spot that the Legion are kinda weird about women. Him being the Khan chief law enforcer kinda makes sense, all things considered, he’s pragmatic and practical, asks questions first and acts second, is mindful of the people around him and cares about issues that don’t affect him directly. He’s cool I like him.
