"The quest title is a wordplay on syphilis"[]

Okay, cool... the quest title is also, like all supposed "quest titles" in Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 AFAIK, an invention of the wiki for the sake of creating navigable pages for quest walkthroughs. Fallout 1 and 2 don't even have quest logs or a quest tracker of any kind and all quests are "unmarked" and unnamed. Is a BTS section patting ourselves on the back for our "clever" (and apparently very juvenile) wordplay really necessary? Especially in a way that doesn't even acknowledge that it's fanspeak and not something the actual developers wrote? DirtyBlue929 (talk) 21:42, 9 April 2024 (UTC)

Agreed. It's not what the BTS section is meant for, because it's not looking behind the scenes of anything that's actually textual. I'll remove it. LaymansReign (talk) 23:37, 9 April 2024 (UTC)
Are there any kind of quest names or parameters given in the background scripts that don't appear in the game menus? Great Mara (talk) 01:46, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
I'm not certain there are, but I'm not familiar with the game's code to be fair. My understanding has always been that certain actions are just scripted to give you experience points with a special message in the little description box in the corner explaining why you got them; some of those actions can only be accomplished by completing a series of prerequisite actions to unlock them but - again, AFAIK based on my admittedly casual understanding of the game's systems - there's no proper, dedicated "quest" system, just sequences of event flags unlocking one another leading to an XP reward flag, which can be broadly lumped together as steps in an informal "questline".
