Robot Parts Tables[]

This article probably ought to contain a table about the various pieces of Robot you can build. I've made a start with what I know SPACKlick (talk) 16:55, March 24, 2016 (UTC)

There seems to be a similar set of tables on the page Automatron robot mods, so you may want to merge this into that page. Aya42 (talk) 21:55, March 27, 2016 (UTC)
Hey SPACKlick I used your tables to update the Automatron robot mods like Aya42 suggested. Great work. Khitrir (talk) 10:58, March 28, 2016 (UTC)

Not Essential![]

The Automatrons made this way don't appear to be essential if they have never been a companion. That is to say, if you make one and never make it a companion, they die when killed. If you are planning on having one of your Robots just for defense, to act as a settler, running supplies etc, you should still make it your companion (and maybe fast travel with it?). If this is done, they act like any other Settler when killed (including the ability of the SS to kill them with friendly fire), significantly raising their survival rate. Can someone confirm this? 153.90.91.5

Bug[]

Don't know if this is the right section, but assigning a robot to work as a provisioner will cause it to reset to a stock Protectron with no armor. Any mods attached to the robot during crafting, like Sentry legs, will disappear. You can still hear the sound of the Sentry legs despite the reset. Googling shows that others have the bug too and it was never fixed, so I know I'm not the only one. 119.74.246.213 17:21, August 15, 2018 (UTC)

Mod availability bugs[]

Starting with Ada's stock configuration, it isn't possible to add NON-exploding Gatlings to her - the mod doesn't show up in the list at all, even dimmed, on either arm, but the exploding version does. Replacing her Sentry arm (right arm) with an Assaultron one suddenly enables the Gatling, on both arms, and it stays enabled even if you immediately re-attach the Sentry arm. Very odd. Codsworth is even worse, with the Sentry arm option not being available at all. I'm not sure which of the bugs is the "real" one: maybe the Gatling and the Sentry Arms aren't actually supposed to be available until after more progress in the quest line, so it may be that this downgrade of Ada's arms (which also enables building Sentry arms as well as the Gatling and Minigun) is the bug, rather than those not showing up at this stage. Either way, it's a broken mess. Maybe I'll figure it out as I go through the rest of the quests.66.214.99.253 07:13, May 29, 2020 (UTC)

  • Yeah - they showed up without needing any trickery after getting the second radar beacon. So the bug is in being able to get them sooner than you should. Pretty minor, but worth writing up for the main page sometime.66.214.99.253 07:56, May 29, 2020 (UTC)

Bug -- Only legs available[]

Am attempting to modify Ada for the first time (to install the MSAT), and the only part of her available to modify in the workbench is her legs. I've restored a previous save game and come at it again, and the same thing happens. Anyone else see this or have any idea how to get around it? - Wordmama 16:50, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Hello, this page is reserved for talk about improving the actual article. Your best bet for getting gameplay help is likely our discussions platform. As for your problem, your solution is listed in the bugs section of the Ada article here - try to cripple her legs, then wait for her to heal. Hope this helps and have a nice day. –FindabairMini-JSPnP LogoThe benefit of the doubt is often doubtful. 17:31, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Sorry -- the format has changed and I didn't realize it. You can delete the entry if you think best. Wordmama 19:08, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

All is good, I just meant to point out that chances for a reply a higher on the discussion platform. Hope you got that bug fixed. Have a great day/evening. –FindabairMini-JSPnP LogoThe benefit of the doubt is often doubtful. 00:12, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
