R&D Terminal[]

What does it do/say?

It describes the development of the Zhu-Rong pistol.

L.O.B.?[]

So what does L.O.B. stand for? It doesn't look like the game itself mentions it, so anyone got any good ideas? 74.215.114.200 21:35, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Probably "Loads Of Bullets", or "Lots Of Bots". --112.200.173.196 15:52, January 9, 2010 (UTC)
Like obese bottoms? I LIKE BIG BUTTS AND I CANNOT LIE Vault-BA 02:09, July 31, 2010 (UTC)
I would like to think it stands for Large Office Building Enterprises. (author?)
The acronym "L.O.B." is used in business, banking and computing for "line of business." It refers to a product or set of products produced by a company, or services offered by a company, or can refer to a department within a company that is working on something specific for a client. Example: A group that manufactures a certain brand of automobile may be considered a LOB, separate from the other brands of cars that the same company manufactures. Or a LOB might be a group within a larger company that produces a particular program for a particular client. In the case of Fallout 3, "LOB Enterprises" is a division working on one product - the Zhu Rong pistol - for the Chinese government. Or it might just be a level designer or writer's initials or something. - FionaMcDonough 19:30, 12 September, 2021 (UTC)

Sentry Bots[]

There may be a Sentry Bot inside L.O.B. Enterprises on one of the upper floors. I had to laugh when I read this. At level 25, almost all the enemies inside were Sentry Bots. There were about eight throughout the building. 67.242.155.16 01:58, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Pre-War Money[]

I think it should be noted in the article that, most likely due to L.O.B. being a large pre-war corporation, there is a fairly significant amount of pre-war money that can be found lying around on desks, filing cabinets, and in crates. 24.206.178.228 23:27, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

I.B.M. Refrence?[]

Could L.o.b. be indeed a reference to IBM? IBM had given punch card computers to Nazi Germany (this was before WWII) to help Germany track the European Jewry. Lob Seems to play off of IBM, being 3 letters, and supporting China's weapon development.

I wouldn't bet on it, but then again, knowing the Fallout 3 team, anything is possible

"IBM helped the Nazis track Jews" is misleading at best. By the late 1930s, IBM, as a pioneer in punch-card techniques, had been helping everyone track everything for nearly four decades. They had been central to the US Census in 1900, for instance. IBM's German subsidiary sold punch-card tabulation systems to the German government, but not specifically to "track the Jews." Or do you really think that some jack-booted specimen dressed in black goose-stepped into IBM headquarters and demanded "Ve vant to order some of your Joo-tracking machines!"
Picture Samuel L. Jackson in a Nazi outfit saying that a'la Octopus from The Spirit. I lol'd. Personal_Sig_Image.gif Tagaziel (call!) 07:50, August 8, 2010 (UTC)

map location[]

this place isnt a bad size so shouldnt it have a map marker cos otherwise u would only really find it by accident.

Using the Falls Church East marker you stand directly in front of the main entrance. It should be called LOB Enterprises though, agreed. --85.116.200.66 19:32, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

fawkes entry glitch[]

upon entry fawkes came stuck in the corner of the left hand wall, making the 3 welcoming sentry bots a hellish fight. anyone else had this?

possible freeze problem (PS3)[]

In the Archives there is a room near one of the entrances with a gas leak. It is guarded by a Protectron and I had my game freeze every time the gas was ignited, this happened at least 6 times in a row. I ended up entering the Archives through the other entrance and avoided igniting the gas.--Ofb09 04:00, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

This isn't to say that other PS3 players haven't had the same issue, but that gas leak didn't freeze for me. The whole lobby area of the building is giving me a huge drop in frame rate, though. ~Iridia talk | contrib 23:12, January 10, 2010 (UTC)

More Loot[]

I've found another bottle of Nuka Cola Quantum near the mentioned office, in the broken Nuka Cola vending machine (where you would never expect it, wink wink). Are there randomly distributed bottles in the game or should this place be added to the article? Moreover, the same area contains 2 Stealth Boys in one ammo crate. It seems that either the loot section of the article is incomplete or the stuff I found is not preset but random. --85.116.200.66 19:35, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

  • These items are just randomly generated, no need to put them into the list Dweller93 04:40, November 27, 2009 (UTC)
  • You can't have randomly generated Nuka Cola Quantum. JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard
  • Yes you can, every Nuka-Cola vending machine has a chance for random Quantums. Unless you mean you can't list the random Quantums in the page, which I agree with. --Kris User Hola 16:07, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

The NukaCola is random for every vending machine. Also in the article it says there is a stealth boy in the armor crate, that is also random and not always there. I did however find a mini nuke in the restrooms next to the CEO terminal.--64.136.205.11 05:56, June 28, 2013 (UTC)

terminals[]

anyone found the one on "inclement weather" (neaclear winter) where it says all empoyee's will be sworn into the sovreign L.O.B republic XD

Hello! I just did! I took a screenshot of the computer monitor with the entry if you want to see it. Leo Star Dragon 1. 70.129.174.55 09:10, April 7, 2011 (UTC)

Armor Selection[]

The armor case in the hallway has been proven to have one of three possible suit combinations - Power Armor & Helmet, Metal Armor & Helmet, or Combat Armor & Helmet. Is there a method by which we can discover the criteria which determines which of the combinations a player may discover in the case, and add this information to the article page? (I discovered the last combination this night, and the other two are from the article page.)Throwback 12:21, November 9, 2010 (UTC)

I found Recon Armor (actually more useful to me for repairing my Chinese Stealth Armor) (playing PS3 GOTY if that matters). Given my experience and the note above, I will edit the page to soften the definitive statement that only a Stealth Boy or a set of Power Armor will be found there. --Lyssla (talk) 01:42, May 8, 2014 (UTC) Ninjaed. :) --Lyssla (talk) 01:56, May 8, 2014 (UTC)

I checked the files, the case has a 75% chance of having armor in it. The possible armors are combat armor (level 1 and up), recon armor (level 5 and up), metal armor (8+) and power armor (11+). So, if you're level 11, any one of those armors can appear, but level 10s won't find power armor. Whether or not the armor itself appears, there's a 50% chance a helmet of the same type appears. Finally, there's a 10% chance a Stealth Boy will appear. Doesn't really matter too much now because it was removed for it being random loot. Paladin117>>iff bored; 02:10, May 8, 2014 (UTC)

Approach Routes[]

Out of the 3 that I've found so far reaching LOB by using the Arlington Wasteland Metro, heading south through the Arlington National Cemetery and then using the Arlington/Falls Church Metro seems to be the path of least resistance as far as enemies encountered goes and it exits out right next to the LOB entrance. Should we try to list all possibilities on the page or just the two on there? Great Mara (talk) 08:49, September 6, 2013 (UTC)

Think this got buried. Great Mara (talk) 02:35, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

More like West Wing[]

I wonder why the "east wing" is to the west. That had me running around in circles like a twat for 10 minutes until I checked my map.
