Isn't there a heavy version of combat armour on some gunners? – Yes, at higher level though.

>It is very likely the armor was originally used by the United States Armed Forces as the emblem on the chest piece matches.

Well judging by the armour worn by (presumably) the Protagonist in the opening scene, it is pre-war combat armour used by the United States Armed Forces.

The same item codes can spawn any variant of the item (standard, sturdy or heavy). It's apparently random.

It really sucks that there is light on it but it doesn't work. Nothing a simple mod wouldn't fix in a week but UGH. Posting a link to such mod as soon as it appears.

And it will immediately be removed. We do not cover mod content on this wiki. Great Mara (talk) 22:53, December 6, 2015 (UTC)

BOS combat armour not mentioned. It also has radiation resistance. Ive been looking at the best rad resitant modifiable non powersuit armour there is.

^^A full suit of lead-lined Leaded Heavy Combat Armor with BOS would be your best conventional armor in terms of protection vs rad resistance. If you just want rad resistance, Hazmat Suit all the way mate. --Taolan (beep 0731 UTC 25 January 2016

The BoS combat armor is just combat armor with a material mod applied (see the armor mod page) - it's not really a variant.

Math is hard? Article says: "A full set of heavy combat armor, including the regular helmet, yields a damage resistance to both ballistic and energy of 105 and a radiation resistance of 0." However, when I add 35 + (2x16) + (2x17) + 10 (which is chest plus two arms plus two legs plus a helmet) I keep getting 111. (Someone fixed it, thanks for that.)

Is there a Gunner variant of combat armor? I see a Gunner in one of the loading screens with the Gunner logo on the chest piece, but no idea how to get it or if it even really exists in the game. 96.247.194.40 22:26, March 23, 2016 (UTC)

Hooded Variant[]

The loading-screenshot shows a helmet with a BoS hood attached - that shows that it is already in the game. Can this item actually be worn? HomerDOHSimpson (talk) 23:24, November 11, 2017 (UTC)

Are you referring to the first image in the gallery?-- DisgustingWastelander (talk) 23:34, November 11, 2017 (UTC)
No. One of the ingame-loading screenshots of a woman in Combat Armor. HomerDOHSimpson (talk) 23:41, November 24, 2017 (UTC)
You're completely sure it's not this one? I can't find what you're talking about on the Fallout 4 loading screens article either. FO4 Combat armor loading screen DisgustingWastelander (talk) 23:47, November 24, 2017 (UTC)

Muffled mod cannot be re-added?[]

Okay, so stripping some armor for mods, trying to get them setup, and I just took some "Muffled" armor mods off of some Combat Light Armor to put on a Combat Tough Armor. And it's not there. I tried putting it back on the original armor, and it won't show there either. Is this a bug, potential mod conflict, or just weirdness? The only mods that I have to mod armor are VIS, and the Minuteman overhaul, which adds the Minuteman colors as an option like the BOS paint job. The color…[]

I’m willing to bet that the combat armor seen in-game used to be a darker green, like the combat armor on the soldier in the Fo76, but has faded since then. The CC Army Paint restores it, correct?—Preceding unsigned comment added by GasMaskEnjoyer (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
