Excessively Dangerous Location?[]

In my recent play through in which I sided with the Legion, the Safehouse was a death trap with a Viper Gunslinger, typically a metal armor clad Leader, spawning right in front but worse still, pretty much all the Feral Ghoul Reavers and Glowing Ones from the nearby Old Nuclear Test Site had relocated their respawn point to the safehouse(Attracted by the Viper shooting them). Leading to a gigantic melee with costly HP and RAD damage every time I'd fast travel there and they even followed me inside the house. I've tried moving the Ghouls' corpses but Ferals are just too tedious to move unlike human corpses.Dr. Lobotomy 20:37, November 11, 2010 (UTC)

I might be a bit late to make this suggestion (seeing how this was about a year ago now) but try waiting for them to respawn then run from them, have them follow you til you reach a spot you think is far enough away, then kill them, that way they don't spawn in the same spot.--Forerunner93 15:16, October 5, 2011 (UTC)

Help?[]

Does anyone know who to get the key from? And what Rep do you need?--TacticalGamerXBL 09:49, November 24, 2010 (UTC)

I got the key once I had a liked reputation with the legion, and you get the key from lucius from inside caesar's tent.

Killing the Legion[]

This may sound stupid, but those Lucky shades look nice, and I'd like to get them if I can. Is there any way in here after killing the key members of the Legion? Since I can't get quests from them now I'm pretty sure there isn't, but is there any other way of getting rep for them? (for example, getting rep for the Followers by giving them medical supplies) And has anyone been given the key by someone other than Lucius?--86.44.130.176 20:01, December 17, 2010 (UTC)

Got an answer for you:

Probably not. Lucious is the only one who will give you that key, and it basically takes every side-quest you can do for the legion and finishing the bunker quest for Caesar (you can fool Caesar into thinking you destroyed the bunker by simply uploading the data for House and still get Legion fame.)to get "Liked" by the legion without having to make a major main quest choice and kill Mr. House. There is a way to get the NCR safehouse key AND legion safehouse key, but it requires a little finesse. first off, you need to take the legion side-quest to bring dog tags to the centurion at cottonwood cove, and get tags by either pickpocketing NCR soldiers or looting dead soldiers from random battles they have with legion troops. one other way is to snipe NCR troops at very long range with a silenced weapon while hidden, because that will not give you infamy points and then you can still loot tags. with this strategy you can get enough fame points to be liked by the legion without gaining infamy with or siding with a faction. The other problem is that for some reason once i was "Liked" by the legion, i couldn't gain any NCR fame, but after being "Liked" by the NCR i could still gain Legion fame. so basically you have to get "Liked" by the NCR first to get both safehouses. Complicated, but you want both safehouses and the things in them, you have to do it this way.

-NOT true- you can become liked by the Legion first and do their quests up to the point where told to kill Mr. House, and still become liked by NCR afterward. It worked fine for me- got the shades and access to both safehouses. Just leave Boone outside the Legion safehouse, or he will kill that guy that gives you the stealthboys and other free loot.

staying with boone[]

Would it possible to get liked by the legion to get the key to get the shades while still being able to select boone as a companion?

Answer - You can but he can not be around any legion troops, and definately never bring him to the fort. If he gets near any legion troop he will shoot them on sight and you get infamy for it. Simply tell him to wait somewhere while you go to any legion spot. And if he gives you the "talk" about working with the legion simply get liked but do not have him near you then get unliked after you get the key.

estimate amount of dogtags?[]

how many dogtags would it take to give to the guy at cottonwood cove to get 'liked' by the legion?

-Apparently 30+ and do all legion quests up to killing Mr house though I couldn't finish monorail sabatoge quest due to a very bad bug in the game. :/

Answer

50 NCR Dogtags = "Liked"

15 NCR Dogtags = "Accepted"

Tested on ps3 new game w/1.04 patch (I saved up 54 before turning in any) I did not try to go for "Idolized" just "Liked" To get the maximum Fame possible turn them one by one! When I turned in 20 for one 9mm SMG & 20 for one Leather Reinforced Armor I did not even get enough for "Accepted" & wasted 40 Tags

e.g.

1 Dogtag = 10mm rounds

1 Dogtag = 9mm rounds

Hope this information helps =D BurnsidePDX 06:36, February 28, 2011 (UTC)

Further Testing:

  • Dialogue Fame from Vulpes Inculta in Nipton is the same as 1 NCR Dogtag of Fame = Neutral
  • +15 NCR Dog Tags = Accepted (-1 Dog Tag needed if above was used for all levels listed)
  • +50 NCR Dog Tags = Liked
  • +100 NCR Dogtags = Idolized

As mentioned above these must be turned in 1 at a time. No NCR infamy was gained by these methods of raising Legion Fame. The 100 Dog Tags were aquired thru 80+ Sneak Skill pickpocketing of unnamed NCR Troopers though this level of Sneak is in no way required. However, unsucessful attempts to steal Dog Tags will result in NCR Infamy.

I plan to test Fame rewards from the Arena next. XxSylphxx 19:57, March 23, 2011 (UTC)

You should save before each pickpocketing attempt just in case you fail and gain NCR infamy, if you do, just load the last save. 1:53, May 25, 2011

also if you just use the ncr radio to call a ranger to you every 24 hours free dogtags

Atticus[]

Pleas make a page about Atticus and his schedule of gong akand forth from the caesars legion safehouse. Also, can u find him even if you dont have the key to the safehouse and if the legion will attack on sight and you cant get a higher reputation w/ them (BTW i also killed all of the dudes in the fort but he wasnt there)

Thx to who ever made the page about him , but could you put some more info on him?

Vilified By The Legion/Can I Still Get The Safehouse?[]

Currently, I am vilified by Caesar's Legion. I should also add that I killed every legion member at Cottonwood Cove. I've read other threads that say you can gain Legion fame by killing NCR members but that really isn't an option for me because there's this "way" that I get an everlasting amount of stimpacks that involves the NCR. I haven't gone to The Fort yet because I wasn't sure if that would ruin my chances of getting the safehouse key. What I want to know is if there's some way that I can gain Legion Fame without killing NCR (and house is already dead/Wild Card: Change In Management) or if I could kill the person who gives you the key and take it from his body.

Thanks!

NCR Fame?[]

I'm on the quest "Wild Card: Side Bets" and I need to contact the Brotherhood of Steel. BUT, I accidentaly killed Paladin Ramos, and the bad thing is I'm a merciful thug on NCR and Caesar's Legion, so I can't do the other quests. I dunno how to get more rep from NCR or Caesar, because there are no more quests available from them D: I can't tell Yes Man to ignore/destroy them cuz I haven't contact with BoS at all. I heard there's a dogtag thing with Quartermaster Mayes & I only see I get 2 caps, there's no notification of NCR fame gained :S I already helped getting Nelson back, & I'm doing the "Legion ears" thing. I'm still a Merciful Thug on NCR, so I'm like "WTF". On Forlorn Hope Camp, I went to see which quests were available, after saying yes to Reyes to do the radio thing for each NCR Ranger Station. I get shot by the important ppl to finish the quests, like the girl on the entrance of HELIOS ONE, and the NCR Vets shoot me too. I'm stuck on this game, plz help!

"Sometimes Atticus stops to offer you goods, besides your reputation with Legion being Liked or Idolized."

Looks good to me now...--OmnipotentPotato 10:57, June 29, 2011 (UTC)

I think he means that you have to be idolised or liked to get supplies in the first place, so it isn't a bug. Yes-Man 10:58, June 29, 2011 (UTC)

Oh, I get it now. He ceases to offer you goods. I thought it meant he stops by to offer you goods. Never mind. Yes-Man 11:00, June 29, 2011 (UTC)

"Ceases" is better. I like it.--OmnipotentPotato 11:01, June 29, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for clearing that up, however, this isn't a bug. Well, I suppose it could be considered a bug if the other safehouse attendants don't behave similarly (I'm uncertain as to whether they do or not), but I know why this occurs: Atticus will only offer the Courier supplies once per visit, but by "visit" I'm referring to Atticus's visits, not the Courier's. If you accept supplies from him but then exit the safehouse before he does, he'll remain in the safehouse until your next return (even if you don't return for weeks). Upon returning, he should stilll be there (though he'll probably be headed for the door) but if you engage him in dialogue, he won't offer you any supplies because this still counts as the same visit from before. He needs to be allowed to leave and come back before he'll offer supplies again. Hope that makes sense.--174.0.106.101 23:10, June 29, 2011 (UTC)

safe?[]

Is it safe to store items labeled "aid" in the Pip-Boy on the shelves? Because i want to put 1 Nuka-Cola, 1 Quantum, 1 Victory, and 1 Quartz on the shelves of a house and i might want to use this one if it is safe. 69.66.166.176 13:55, July 18, 2011 (UTC)

Pre or Post Patch?[]

Umm, are the articles of armor there pre-patch? because I have the game, and no way to get patches cause i have no internet hookup. I really want them, but I don't wanna go through it all to be disappointed. "May the odds be ever in your favor." Bobblehead Charisma

According to their individual pages, the Legion praetorian armor is there without the patch, but the other 2 sets of armor require Patch 1.2.0.31x. Sorry. Paladin117>>iff bored 18:08, April 26, 2012 (UTC)

Legion armor found at the safehouse[]

If you wish to play Legion where else can you get Legion centurion armor ?

It's rarity along the story line makes it notable. As the Same case can be made for NCR Ranger gear. when playing an NCR story line.

The separate story lines make the Faction leadership armor rare and so notable!

  • I think these are fair points worth discussion. You can't just buy most of this gear.

I welcome your thoughts.

One solution is to piss off the Legion before reaching New Vegas and keep a set off one of the Legion assassins, but I dunno. User:Great_MaraMessage 05:24, October 14, 2012 (UTC)

It's not by what seems notable. It's by the policy. ~ Toci ~ Go ahead, make my day. 05:29, October 14, 2012 (UTC)

I see that but let's say you want to be loyal to Cesar ?

Just as to get the NCR ranger armor and brown round hat you might want to be loyal NCR. The fact these items have been presented in these leadership sets represent a "special" reward. In this case it is not the fact you might obtain them but they are "notable items" due to the circumstance they are awarded.

The Legion and NCR safe house faction gear as presented in fixed sets are like "mini' DLCs they are only awarded under a fixed set of circumstances that represent more than a small amount of dedication to their perspective factions..

  • The gear is all notable because of the special circumstances by witch it was obtained.

Just curious here, but have you noticed that they were added to the article about 45 minutes ago? Lol. ~ Toci ~ Go ahead, make my day. 05:48, October 14, 2012 (UTC) Further Re : Policy

pol·i·cy1    [pol-uh-see] Show IPA noun, plural pol·i·cies. 1. a definite course of action adopted for the sake of expediency, facility, etc.: We have a new company policy. 2. a course of action adopted and pursued by a government, ruler, political party, etc.: our nation's foreign policy. 3. action or procedure conforming to or considered with reference to prudence or expediency: It was good policy to consent.

These items should be considered an exception to that Policy due to the exceptional circumstances that they where brought together as sets as a "Special" faction reward for outstanding service to their faction.

  • Any good policy will recognize the fair exception to any rule.

So can we consider this a case closed in favor of faction gear awarded to Safe houses as Notable ?

The Last Hope For Retrieving These, Squashed?[]

Hi, after reading all of the different theories that work, or haven't worked, I would like to add mine to the list and hopefully get some advice on how to get these darn lucky shades.

I am playing on console, so no codes, and have been vilified by the legion twice now. Once before, and after, the Mark of Caesar. Realizing my mistake far too late, I set out on an elaborate plot to get these glasses. I first disguised myself with the Legion, then I went to Cottoncove Cave (discovering the location for the first time), and snuck past any of the guards who would ask me my business there. I eventually reached Severus, and exploited his explosives check of 50 about 50 times, which gave me enough Legion fame to be "liked". I then snuck to the barge, avoided the guy who would take my guns, and floated off to The Fort. Once there, I snuck all the way up to Caesar's tent, sneak attack critical'd the guard in front, and then entered the tent and sneak attack critical'd every guard in there, aside from Caesar, and Lucius and the other guy right next to him.

After I accomplished all of this, when I talked to each of them, it would just zoom in on their faces, and then zoom back out, nothing would happen. They weren't hostile, but nothing would happen.

Is there any hope for me...? Please, please help. And do not waste hours trying to do this like I did, my heart is literally broken right now. Failingfinals (talk) 04:19, January 23, 2013 (UTC)Failingfinals
