Protection, smuggling, chems - whatever you need, all you gotta do is speak to the Shroud. I got my fingers dipped in every pocket in town and the mayor and the city council don't have a clue. They think I collect comic books.Shroud Manor terminal entries; terminal, 09-02-77

Louie Trevisani was the boss of the Trevisani crime family in Boston before the Great War.

Background[]

Trevisani and his gang were heavily involved in Boston's underworld, engaging in various criminal activities such as smuggling, chem dealing, and protection, with corrupt cops in the Boston Police Department ensuring he could avoid repercussions. Publically, Trevisani masqueraded as a wealthy collector of The Silver Shroud merchandise to hide his gang's criminal activities, even naming his estate "Shroud Manor."[1][2]

This was more than just cover, though: Trevisani was a genuine fan of the franchise. His manor was decorated with Shroud paraphernalia,[3] one of his criminal enterprises was the manufacture of counterfeit Silver Shrouds comics and related merchandise,[4][5] and he even saw himself as the Silver Shroud, boasting that he controlled Boston from the shadows with none the wiser.[1] After he was injured in an assassination attempt on May 16, 2077, Trevisani hired R. Jameson & Sons Carpentry to construct a network of secret passages in his manor as panic rooms, then had the carpenters killed to cover his tracks.[6][7]

Unbeknownst to Trevisani, this led to a sting operation by the Boston Police Department after an eyewitness connected the missing carpenters to his manor, with rookie officer Candace Isola being sent to pose as an aspiring actress named Candy to seduce him. The ploy worked, and Trevisani gradually fell in love with her, being manipulated into incriminating himself through holotapes. Trevisani repeatedly tried to make Candace sleep with him, but she refused, wanting the "fat fuck" to verbally incriminate himself while pretending to be fed up with his keeping secrets from her.[1][8] After the police discovered the carpenters' bodies, they raided the manor, but found no evidence as the gang had managed to hide in the new panic rooms.[9]

Trevisani and his gang began to suspect a mole, and some viewed Candace as suspicious. However, they never told Trevisani, knowing he was completely smitten with his "Mistress of Mystery." As a result, Trevisani took Candace into his secret vault in the manor's basement the week before the Great War, preparing to reveal his criminal activities to her in order to gain her approval for marriage and sleeping together.[10] This did not go as planned; after Candace questioned him about the carpenters' murders, he "got rough" and she "got rougher," leading to his death.[11]

Though Trevisani died before the Great War, Candace survived as a ghoul and used the manor as her home. Some of Trevisani's criminal associates also survived the War, and using their connections she managed to form a new Triggermen syndicate which continues to operate as of 2287.[5]
