Dan was an employee at the Mount Blair Trainyard before the Great War.

Background[]

At some point, Dan and Ed approached Walter with their suspicions about a large shipment from Washington, D.C., aboard train number 197. As soon as the crates were loaded off of the train, a "creepy" man named Grey approached Dan and began questioning him.

Once Walter realized what shipment they were talking about, he began to cover things up, likely a high-level order to keep the shipment under wraps. Walter told Dan and Ed to forget what they saw and that there was no "197 from D.C." He threatened them to stop talking about it and told them to hand over the holotape they had been using to record the conversation.[1]

After the bombs dropped, Dan and his son James were forced to run from danger, using masks while navigating post-War Appalachia. When Dan found James in a train car at his old workplace, singing to himself, Dan told James that he could not keep coming back and that they had to keep moving.[2]

Notes[]

In the holotape My name's James, James is mislabeled as "Dan," while Dan himself has no name attached to his subtitles. This is because James' voice type is erroneously named "Dan."[3]

Appearances[]

Dan is mentioned only in Fallout 76.
