A crate is a container in Fallout: New Vegas. They are used for the storage of various items.
Characteristics[]
Metal crates[]
Metal crates (simply named "crate"), containing 0-2 items of factory, hospital, military, or office related random general loot, junk, or minor weapons, can be found almost anywhere. There is only one souvenir crate, and it contains 49 rocket souvenirs. These metal crates are all visually identical to metal boxes.
One variant of these (also simply named "crate") introduced in Old World Blues is at Ulysses' Point and uses the Enclave crate model. The two crates located there are guaranteed to have one fresh plant or meat food item, with up to ten more (75% chance per count) in each.
Wooden crates[]
Wooden crates (simply named "crate") are brown and can also be found almost anywhere. They share the same exact features as explosives crates, with XXX markings on the outside. The C-4 crate contains five C-4 plastic explosive, the frag grenade crates contain two to seven frag grenades in each, and the GS crates contain one to three Sunset Sarsaparilla in each.
Two variants of wood crates are named Sunset Sarsaparilla crate, which is slightly darker brown and bears the Sunset Sarsaparilla logo, and wooden crate, which is longer, much lighter in color, and has no logo.

- Two on the small plateau outside the back entrance of Angel cave.
- One inside Angel cave itself.
- Three inside the crossroad cavern.
- Two can be found at the bottom of the river underneath the rock formation that extends from the little island to the northeast of the Dead Horses camp and that goes across a small channel of the river to lead to a hidden ledge on the side of the cliff.
- One in the Dead Horses camp.
- Five inside the Fallen Rock cave.
- Three inside the Glass Chime cave.
- Five in the storage area of the lookout tower at Ranger Substation Eagle.
- Six in the storage area of the lookout tower at Ranger Substation Osprey.

- Eight throughout the various White Legs camps across the Three Marys canyon.
- One inside the Three Marys' caverns.
