I just finished my 25th marketing channel audit (with the amazing marketing team at Catch+Release nonetheless!) and I'm sharing the template with you ( link in comments 👇 ). What started as a way to organize my thoughts about companies I was interviewing with... ... morphed into a tool for quarterly snapshots for OKR tracking and competitive intel for my marketing teams ... and now has become a vehicle for go-to-market conversations with the leadership teams at Cervin Ventures' portfolio companies. These audits aren't about being judgmental or pointing fingers. They're a mechanism for facilitating a data-driven conversation about a company's go-to-market motion -- and where we may be leading, lagging or areas we can focus.
