Spam accounts[]
I don't think you were speaking out of turn, but we don't demand "real world" names from anyone here (barring actual paid staff). Generally, we've relied on "work done" and overall perceived intent as guidelines for who gets promoted and who does not. This particular wiki is the oldest in our network and one of the most visited, so the current administrators (who are not small in number) tend to be perhaps more protective than other smaller wikis. — Game widow (talk) 19:07, 6 January 2016 (UTC)
- Wow. I have a talk page. Thanks! :). ... Um, I'm not sure I was suggesting that real world names be demanded of anyone, I wondered why it was that the admins here did not have checkuser currently and thought that perhaps the checkuser right could be granted to an admin if they did wish to offer their real world details which perhaps some might. - The practice of requiring important personal data in order to be appointed as a checkuser is used by Wikimedia. There, user in question is required to be no younger than 18 years and to be of legal age (depends on country, see this map for ages of majority in various countries).
