Serial comma[]

This template does not generate a Serial comma (aka the "oxford comma"). This ought to be fixed, since otherwise things read incorrectly. It really only applies with "and" and "or", though, not any of the other delimiters. I don't think it'd be that hard to implement, but I don't have a good test case or enough experience with the template system. (I only noticed it on the 1.14 page, which includes armorer_poi bamboo_plantable_on beds butcher_poi cartographer_poi cleric_poi dirt_like dragon_immune farmer_poi fisherman_poifletcher_poi job_site_poi leatherworker_poi librarian_poi mason_poi meeting_site_poi points_of_interest shepherd_poi signs small_flowersstanding_signs, toolsmith_poi, wall_signs, walls, weaponsmith_poi, and wither_immune — it looks like it's grouping them in a weird way to me. Also worth noting that that page has well over 10 items in that list, and most of them aren't showing up...) --Pokechu22 (talk) 16:43, 28 March 2019 (UTC)

cd shortcut[]

The cd shortcut seems to have a number of issues, which can be seen in the folded sections here: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Commands&oldid=1388227#minecraft:block_pos

and here: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/index.php?title=Commands&oldid=1388227#minecraft:block_predicate

That's not specific to the shortcut, in general, as soon as you include brackers, the template gets messed up and you should use <code> instead. FVbico (talk) 11:39, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

Necessity of the template[]

I hope this template isn’t used to blatantly save up on writing single <code>...</code> tags at the expense of some template usage overhead? Delimiter functionality does seem to be a redeeming point, but outside of that, is this template really needed? — BabylonAS 19:11, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

I've been wondering about this too. On Official pages/Bedrock Edition flattening, replacing ~8000 usages of this template with code tags significantly reduced the loading time, which was previously 30+ seconds (compare the new version with the old version by viewing the page source and searching for "NewPP limit report"). Since the main benefit appears to be convenience, I do think it shouldn't be used within other templates at least. –Sonicwave talk 19:43, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
Just saying, it also adds a span style="word-break: break-word;" along with the code formatting. Dhranios (talk) (Join the wiki videos project!) 19:44, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
If the only issue is performance this can be turned into a module, but this template is very useful for saving redundancy and making it easier to write.  Nixinova T  C   20:41, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
I don't know much about what you have said, but I think this template is really useful. Its main use is to put <code>...</code> easily. It's useful to put translation strings, tags, etc. And the visual editor can sometimes not work if the page is really big, and also putting many <code>...</code> or <nowiki><code>...</code></nowiki> can make a user get really confused if they aren't really used to use them. So, I think that this template is useful on many cases, and as they said, it helps a lot to reduce the loading time of the page. Supeika (talk) 21:42, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
“and as they said, it helps a lot to reduce the loading time of the page” — hahahahahaha 🤣 Just how do you think the template manages to reduce loading times compared to a HTML tag? Isn’t it actually the reverse? — BabylonAS 05:51, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
