Major Revamp[]

I am working on the revamp of this page. I shall extend it to cover all types of flying. --Naista2002 (talk) 07:29, 22 August 2014 (UTC)

I think it is time to add some videos and/or more images. But I don't have Minecraft yet :) –Naista2002Talk

We need multidirectional flying engines. 108.216.30.59 15:13, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
Why you would not add info about them yourself? It’s a wiki. Be bold. Create an account, upload a few images, add the missing infos about multi-directionsls — that’s it! — Yours, Agent Nick the Red37 (t · c) f.k.a. Naista2002 16:53, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
I think his problem is that he doesn't know any multidirectional engines... although if you attach one direction engine to the other direction engine, and only activate one at a time...would that work? AwesomeMan31415926 (profile|contribs) 05:36, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
I tried to post an image of a common flying machine but I can't find out how to insert the image. If someone could do it, thanks. It's the one with the 2 sticky pistons on the back and one on the front. There are 3 redstone blocks on top and 3 slime blocks underneath the redstone blocks. It's a pretty simple and easy to build flying machine. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by A248 (talkcontribs) at 21:08, 06 October 2015 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
First you need to upload it, then just using the same format as the other images in the gallery. KnightMiner t/c 23:39, 6 October 2015 (UTC)

Is there any interest in specific designs and/or pictures for command block based flying technologies?[]

For pictures there's a few things I could get ahold of. For designs I just know my own "telekinetic flying machines" (defines the ship as "any block within a 5x6x5 area around the player", allowing you to build small ships or just use a treetop as a flying carpet...or ruin an enemy's building by flicking the effect off and on while running down the hallways). Engine fail?[]

#Engines's first image depicts an engine that I tried to build quite a few times, both in plots on MC server mc-cb.net and in a vanilla 1.8 singleplayer world, and neither time did it do what it was supposed to...If nobody else has had success constructing this thing, I would advise its removal. AwesomeMan31415926 (profile|contribs) 05:39, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

Apologies, I was working without Minecraft and could not test that then (I was then known as Naista2002, by the way). You can actually look up a working engine of that sort on other sites, and fix the machines. — Agent NickTheRed37 (talk) 15:33, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
First, did you make sure the middle piston was sticky? Second, did you give the middle piston a block update or two after building? This type of machine runs on bud updates, so it needs one to get it started. KnightMiner t/c 23:09, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
That design just needs to be vertical with the Redstone Blocks on top and the Pistons, Sticky Pistons, and Slime Blocks on the bottom. --SuperDyl19 (talk) 01:22, 22 November 2015 (UTC)

Is this page off-topic now?[]

This page was about slimeblock contraptions. But now also contains other ways to fly, but not actually "flying technologies" by themselves. I think this is misleading and those things should be moved elsewhere if not deleted. Before actually doing this, I am waiting for others to tell their opinions. By the way why there is a feather? A slimeblock could be more relevant.--LightningSh0ck (talk) 21:20, 25 May 2016 (UTC)

Agree Commands and the special cape are not technologies, they are just flying methods. Also, please use "Add topic", so the presence of a new section can easily be seen in the recent changes list. The BlobsPaper 01:47, 26 May 2016 (UTC)
Shall we do a separate tutorial section for command blocks?--LightningSh0ck (talk) 19:57, 26 May 2016 (UTC)
Not anymore, I have just removed all the off-topic sections and moved the page. Fadyblok240 (talk) 22:27, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

4 way flying machine with no other buildings[]

So I have successfully made a 4 way flying machine on MCPE but can be made on all platforms. The only problem I am having right now is it would be hard to use on survival. Also I have a really small flying machine that is 3 blocks long and 2 blocks high for a total of 6 blocks.i am on my phone right now so I will add the pics on a computer later Spartan432 (talk) 20:07, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

That would certainly help to the article, since there are no four-directional craft ever mentioned here. — NickTheRed37 (issues’ wall) 08:54, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

Diagonal movement?[]

How do you make a diagonally moving engine in MPCE? I would really appreciate help. Wwei23 (talk) 21:05, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

Engine gif doesn't seem to be always animated[]

Sometimes the only way to see the animated version is to click on it. That's why I added "Click to see the animated version" to the caption(someone actually thanked me for doing this). However some people here are reverting the caption back. Don't you understand that not everyone sees it animated it the main page? Please stop doing it because I don't want to play a edit/revert game. LightningSh0ck (talk) 13:17, 18 November 2016 (UTC)

Only if you've changed your thumbnail size to 150, otherwise it animates. In fact with the default setting the image is the exact same one as seen on the file page. MajrTalk

Page needs update, especially observer engines[]

Observer slimestone isn't even mentioned in the page even though the current smallest flying machine (5 blocks), smallest rideable flying machine (5 blocks), smallest rider-start-stop-able flying machine (5 blocks), smallest crash-safe flying machine (5 blocks), smallest 2-way flying machine (6 blocks), and smallest 2-way vertical flying machine (6 blocks) all use observers as of 1.11.2. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 73.25.110.186 (talk) at 22:15, 12 January 2017 (UTC). I added {{needs update}}. Can you give a more specific description of the designs? The BlobsPaper 00:08, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

Should we add a separate tutorial for elytras?[]

Infinite Water Flyer[]

I noted a game-breaking bug on the compact flyer, is that O.K? I'm still new to Gamepedia. Techyfarmboy (talk) 13:20, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

Stuff needing to be done[]

1) Convert a few more videos to schematics, notably the diagonal flyer 2) Fill in credits, "carrying capacity" (that is, how many blocks can be added, e.g. for splitters, start/stop conditions 3) Bedrock edition section needs a similar rework. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 15:28, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

BTW, I haven't messed much with the Bedrock section because I don't have Bedrock. About the only thing I really could do would be gather the schematics into a gallery, and they're small enough that it hardly seems worth the trouble. --MentalMouse42 (talk) 02:13, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

Driveable machines don't really work.[]

I drew up the schematics from the video, but having tried to build driveable machines C and D (on Java 1.16.5, in survival), they don't seem to be working for me. Machine D didn't start at all, in any direction. Machine C works OK east-west, but 3 out of four builds, when I tried north-south, underwent Spontaneous Unplanned Disassembly. Usually leaving one of the cockpits behind, with the bulk of the machine heading off into the north. I'd be willing to believe that I just suck at flying machines, but has anyone successfully built these? --MentalMouse42 (talk) 02:18, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

I also built drivable D and it didn't work! – Unsigned comment added by 203.214.89.184 (talk) at 01:16, August 17, 2021 (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~
