Cave Spider Wither Jockey[]

Put simply, I think we need an image of the Cave Spider Wither Jockey in the infobox --68.83.241.163 23:01, 20 February 2016 (UTC)

That's gonna take long to find...--173.228.205.51 21:17, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

My spider jockey had an 100% percent chance to appear when there are no mobs at night‌[Legacy Console Edition only][]

I assume this is a bug--173.228.205.51 21:13, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

Wither skeleton and stray jockeys[]

As per https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-109415, which is marked works as intended, wither skeletons and strays can no longer spawn as spider jockeys. I was able to confirm this behavior in 1.11.2, in which I generated hundreds of sky-exposed spiders with spawners, command blocks, naturally, and by spawn egg and received heaps of skeleton spider jockeys but not a single stray jockey.

Therefore, this information should be removed from this page.

Were you in the right biome? Wither skeletons only spawn in the nether, and strays only spawn in snowy biomes. The BlobsPaper 03:38, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
Yes. Strays were spawning naturally elsewhere. Also note the bug tracker link.
Tryashtar (talk) 03:43, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
Bugs don't belong on pages, as they are temporary, unintentional, and do not appear in other versions (i.e. Pocket Edition). The BlobsPaper 03:56, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
It's marked WAI, so it looks like it's not going to change.
Tryashtar (talk) 04:02, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
Tryashtar is correct; when a bug on the bug tracker is resolved WAI, that means it is intended by the developers to be that way, and can be cited as such. – Sealbudsman talk/contr 04:08, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
Alright, I updated the spider jockey page, and removed references to stray/wither jockeys on the skeleton, wither skeleton, and spider pages.
Tryashtar (talk) 00:23, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
Actually, pocket edition does have stray and wither jockeys. They should be included, but {{only}} should be used. The BlobsPaper 01:23, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
Cool, I see that you have done that. Thank you!

Contradictory info[]

The spawning part states that spider jockeys can spawn with wiher skeletons and strays, while the history section states otherwise. It needs to be fixed. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by Delibirda (talkcontribs) at 13:00, 28 November 2019 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

At least, they still exist in Bedrock. ImakerB (talk) 01:36, 5 December 2019 (UTC)

Merge proposal with Spider[]

I  Support the move proposals to be consistent with other ridden mobs articles. This title should redirect to the normal Spider article to a specific version talking about jockeys. About Cave Spiders, the Cave Spider Jockey redirect should be used instead to link to the Cave Spider article to a specific section. Supeika (talk) 15:39, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

Oppose unless chicken jockey is also merged with chicken. (But chickens are passive... It would be inconsistant to merge with Zombie (other variants and it is the passenger, not the base).Humiebeetalk contribs 18:19, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
Oppose It still should be a separate page like Chicken Jockey 193.188.114.194 07:35, 26 September 2021 (UTC)

Spider Jockey vs. Skeleton[]

"If the skeleton on the spider jockey is shot by another skeleton, it dismounts and leaves the spider to engage the skeleton that shot it." This is incorrect. The skeleton on the spider jockey does not dismount when attacked by another skeleton. Instead, the skeleton just starts shooting at the other skeleton while staying on the spider. The page should be edited to reflect this. Tim123467 (talk) 22:23, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
