Hi, why gets this page protected so only administrators can edit it?

Hi, I note that the page have got recently protected so only administrators can edit it, Why? Full protection should not be needed without a notice before the page gets protected, and other users should also edit it. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT MAKED SO THIS PAGE HAVE GOT PROTECTED, AND ALSO FOR A LONG TIME. Please can an admin make the protection shorter or other editors must request edits to this page using this talk page. Any questions about this, ask them below. -- Philip57sundfors TALK CONTRIBUTIONS 09:53, 20 April 2018 (UTC)

A user was making a controversial edit that kept getting reverted, so it was fully protected to prevent edit war. However, I do think full protection until 2019 is a bit overkill - in my opinion I think it should have been protected for a month, and a note should be left on that user's talk page. I don't think that only administrators should be able to edit it for almost a year just because of one dispute with one user.-- Madminecrafter12Orange Glazed TerracottaTalk to meLight Blue Glazed Terracotta 02:33, 21 April 2018 (UTC)
Agreed - the fact that I can't remove a completely non-existent version from the page is annoying me quite a lot (thankfully it's a redlink). - MinecraftPhotos4U (talk) 12:38, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
Indeed, I would've just blocked them. A single bad editor shouldn't prevent everyone else from editing. MajrTalk

Proposed page move

Capopanzone has proposed the page be moved to Player for the following reason:
No other entity pages use "The" in their title, and "Player" is the in-game name for this entity (see string entity.minecraft.player)

Oppose as it is referred to as the player in the End Poem. -BDJP (t|c) 21:01, 24 October 2018 (UTC)
If it was part of the name, "the" would be capitalized. the entity is called "Player", since the end poem is directed at one player (the one who sees it), that player is referred to as "the" player.
The actual entity name (entity.minecraft.player) should also be preferred over usage in big strings of text. (In case it isn't clear, I actually  Support moving.) FVbico (talk) 21:10, 24 October 2018 (UTC)
As FVbico pointed out, "the player" in that context is a generic term used inside a text, so obviously it receives articles and stuff like that. The actual entity name for the player entity is just "Player", and you can check that by searching for the string entity.minecraft.player in the en_us.json file in any version from 18w02a onwards. Using the article just because a sentence directed to the actual player uses "the" before "player" would be like saying that the Ender Dragon page should be named "The Ender Dragon" because the the description for "The End... Again" advancement uses "the Ender Dragon".--Capopanzone (talk) 19:26, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
Support For above reasons. It's always been silly that the player had a definite article in its page title. The player redirect page doesn't have any history besides its creation, so a move would be easy. – Jack McKalling [ Talk Contrib ] 19:53, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
Support Is inline with similar moves that have happened. MajrTalk

Corrupted

Fix the bubble bar picture, as it shows red text. 111.88.15.200 10:44, 11 June 2020 (UTC)

It's not corrupted, it simply means that whatever text is red is (if 2 years ago) still nonexistent. TheWitheringSkeletonizedHuskyStrayStorm1999 09:39, 18 March 2022 (UTC)

Damage immunity for 3 seconds after respawning

So the player does not take damage for three seconds upon respawning from death; this can be noticeable if you're killed by zombified piglins, the gamerule ForgiveDeadPlayers is disabled, and your spawn point is near your death location

Tested it, and it happens because the game thinks you were just hurt, like if you got hurt (without dying) normally. TheWitheringSkeletonizedHuskyStrayStorm1999 09:19, 3 March 2022 (UTC)

Here's a link to an article They are going to be changing Steve and Alex, someone needs to reflect this by updating the images when it’s out --GamingBren (talk) 13:17, 23 August 2022 (UTC)

Steve shirt color

Article says Steve's shirt is light blue for some reason - isn't it technically cyan? In-game it's an almost identical match 71.53.130.38 14:51, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

I changed it to cyan. Amatulic (talk) 23:24, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

1.19.50 update and Steve

Apparently Steve looks different. I changed one of my skins back to Steve in Bedrock and noticed he’s more detailed. This only affects 1.19.50 afaik. 1.158.238.102 10:59, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
