Usage edit needed[]
In Usage some needs to add crafting with cactus green to make 2 cyan dye i didnt do it my self because im new and afraid ill screw soem thing up

Inconsistent altitudes[]
The main section states that “The highest concentration of Lapis Lazuli Ore is found at level 19.”
The Trivia section states that “Lapis Lazuli is most common at the depth of 23. (See graph on the left)” (the graph actually appears to show a spike at 19, not 23).
These are clearly inconsistent. Which is true?

I uploaded a chart showing an average over 3000 chunks. One problem is a discrepency in ore spawn ratios depending on which quadrant you are in, so I centered my calculations on point (0,0). 16-20 is the ideal range, with my calculations showing 17 as ideal. NZPhoenix 05:23, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

Potentially confusing trivium[]
The trivia section states that "Lapis Lazuli is the only ore that spawns only below level thirty that can be mined with a stone pickaxe." This can be confusing, as it is easy to not notice the "only" in "that spawns only below level thirty". Krijac98 16:36, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
Spawning[]

- Yeah it only shows up in newly generated chunks. I ran some stats and its nearly identical rarity as diamonds. Ratty 00:29, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Drop Rate[]
Did my number crunching thing again and went to add the stats, only to find that someone beat me to it. C'est la vie. For what it's worth, my stats match closely with the ones given here. --Solra Bizna 00:53, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Failed Smelting[]
You know, i thought of something. If you bother to take the time to mine redstone or lapis ore with an enchanted pickaxe, then would it not make more sense for when smelting it would be a slightly larger amount than by mining regularly? I mean, think of it this way: When mining something, you lose some of the mineral you were mining because it is buried in some rocks. But if smelted and all the stone is removed then there would be no loss, which to minecraft terms, would count for instead of 4-8 lapis, more like a definite 9 or 10 lapis. Just saying.
