Growth mechanic contradiction[]

This article contradicts itself with regards to growth. In the growth Mechanics section, it says that "When the top block of the kelp plant reaches an age of 25, it will stop growing." But the block state section, it says the opposite: "At age 25, a kelp may try to grow more kelp above it." I don't currently have the time to actually check the code, but my weak experience indicates the later; in creative I was able to grow an extremely tall kelp plant (around 100 blocks tall) with a high random tick speed. Anyone know what behavior is actually correct or if it's maybe a version difference? --Pokechu22 (talk) 23:40, 12 October 2018 (UTC)

(For the record, I retract my statement about random tick speed; that was misremembering how tall it actually got in comparison to a flood of items in a tall thing. I'm still not 100% sure what the actual behavior is though) --Pokechu22 (talk) 19:57, 6 January 2019 (UTC)

Water freezes next to kelp?[]

In the Playstation 4 edition, water will freeze next to a kelp plant that is at the surface. Can someone check this behavior on Bedrock and Java? 68.186.11.102 08:29, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

I play Bedrock and I've never seen this. Possibly in a frozen biome it could happen. ~ Amatulic (talk) 02:41, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

Kelp grows to 15 blocks on bedrock[]

Not sure if this is new to the 1.12 update or not since I didn't play around with it before, but all my testing shows that kelp only and always grows to exactly 15 blocks of height. They also are NOT broken by growing into flowing water, but rather treats water flowing above them (sideways at least, haven't tested downwards flowing water) as solid blocks and stops growing below it. –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 212.116.83.109 (talk) at 9:15, 23 July 2019 (UTC).
