Location in Minecraft.jar[]

Should we add the location of the Poem in the minecraft.jar file? 121.210.140.77 21:41, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

It should be somewhere. Maybe here on the discussion page at least? Firebastard 21:41, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

For the record; that'd be title\win.txt Firebastard 00:13, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

Alpha plays in this![]

I can remember hearing Alpha when I was reading the poem in-game. On the Volume Beta page, however, it says it supposedly (which I have removed now) plays. WRONG as dirt tools(?)! Crazytobuildmc (talk) 12:24, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

Spoiler Warning[]

Is the spoiler warning really necessary? I don’t like it there because:

  1. It interrupts the flow of the page
  2. It makes it annoying for someone who is just looking up the poem out of curiosity
  3. I don’t think “spoiling your enjoyment of discovering the game's secrets for yourself” is a good enough reason for putting up the spoiler tag.

However, I can’t speak for the opinions of humanity as a whole, which is why we have talk pages. What is your opinion on the matter?

Given my background editing Wikipedia, I'm personally not a fan of spoiler warnings at all: you're looking at an article called "End Poem" on a wiki dedicated to Minecraft, and as such, spoilers are basically a given. But (like with many things I don't particularly agree with here) I've never felt strongly enough to try and get this changed. Or basically, I wouldn't mind seeing the spoiler warning on this page (and on any other pages that might have spoiler warnings) disappear, but I won't be leading the charge. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 10:40, 24 October 2017 (UTC)
I personally don't see much reason for the spoiler warning. I don't consider the End Poem as some sort of epic conclusion to the game, so I don't think it can really be considered a spoiler. However, some people might and it's true that the End Poem is basically the only real piece of story-line in the game. I don't feel strongly one way or the other. --Pepijn (talk) 10:48, 24 October 2017 (UTC)

Cut Scene[]

Do you think that we could call the end poem a cut scene? That seems to be what it is, is it not? Unless you can some up with a good reason not to call it that, I see no reason not to add that.73.208.227.101 22:29, 5 April 2020 (UTC)

Misattributed Quote[]

The bottom of this page mentions Mark Twain as being a "widely, but controversially attributed" source of the end quote, but makes no mention of the actual source. According to link attached we can see that the quote has been attributed to Sarah Frances Brown. It was published by her son, H. Jackson Brown Jr., in his book "P.S. I Love You". Because the page is protected I cannot add this information. Could someone else please credit the author? 142.179.117.112 06:53, 16 May 2020 (UTC)

In the section titled "End Quote", first bullet, the quote is incorrectly attributed. The author's name is Horace Jackson Brown Jr., not Harriet. (source: [1]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H._Jackson_Brown_Jr. -- the quote in question can be seen directly under the author's photo on this linked page.) I'm too new to edit, I believe; can't seem to find a way to make the change myself, so I added a note here for review. Its tmaaz (talk) 03:27, 2 February 2023 (UTC)

You can get credits throught main menu[]

One day I discovered that you can get credits throught clicking "Copyright Mojang AB. Do not distribute!" text. It's just credits and end of poem too – Unsigned comment added by Cilvannau (talkcontribs) at 14:34, 6 December 2020 (UTC). Sign comments with ~~~~

Time Verification[]

In a recent edit I made, I updated the times for the credit cut scene. These are based on a screen recording that I took of Minecraft 1.20.1. I did notice that any form of performance issue can affect how fast it goes, however, it isn't by much.

I categorized each point as such:

Start of scene: The moment the screen goes black after jumping into the Exit portal

End of poem / Start of Credits: The exact moment a part of the credits text can be seen

End of scene: The moment the black screen goes away and it loads back into the game

In the future, the credits will be constantly updated and is worth checking every major update and they will always become longer.Moving forward, this is the best way to tell the segments time and future updates to the page should follow this guideline.IiConsumed (talk) 05:58, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
