Main article: Polished Blackstone

Where Blackstone can be seen as the cobblestone of the Nether, polished blackstone can be seen as the stone variation, and chiseled polished blackstone as the chiseled stone bricks.

Both polished backstone and chiseled polished blackstone can be found naturally as part of bastion remnants and ruined portals that generate in the Nether, or it can be crafted by putting blackstone in a 2 by 2 square in the crafting grid to get 4 polished blackstone and 2 polished blackstone slabs above each other in a crafting grid to make 1 chiseled polished blackstone.

While both blocks share the same blast resistance as blackstone, chiseled polished blackstone takes the same amount time to mine, whereas polished blackstone takes slightly longer. To be more specific, if you were to mine both blocks without the appropriate tool, polished blackstone would take 2 and a half seconds more to mine. Mining the blocks with any pickaxe will make them drop themselves, not using a pickaxe will result in nothing.

Polished blackstone can be further processed in a crafting grid to create a polished blackstone button, by putting a single block in the grid, a polished blackstone pressure plate, by putting 2 blocks right besides each other, polished blackstone bricks, by putting the blocks in a 2 by 2 square, and 4 polished blackstone stairs, 6 polished blackstone slabs and 6 polished blackstone walls, with the usual stair, slab and wall recipes. Alternatively, polished blackstone bricks can be put in a stonecutter to create 1 block of polished blackstone bricks, chiseled polished blackstone bricks, polished blackstone stairs, polished blackstone brick stairs, polished blackstone wall or polished blackstone brick wall, or 2 polished blackstone slabs or polished blackstone brick slabs.
