This article aims to provide a comprehensive style guide for all Minecraft Wiki tutorials to follow. There are often disputes over which style rule or formatting to use so an official style guide helps resolve these disputes and reach a consensus.

This style guide expands on the general style guide, so make sure you've read it first.

Article titles[]

All tutorials must be as a subpage of Tutorials (prefixed with "Tutorials/"), followed by a short descriptive name (e.g. Tutorials/Acquiring a conduit). The name mustn't contain "How to"

Redirects[]

Redirects are not allowed to be made, due to SEO reasons.

Article layout[]

All articles should follow the layout in MCW:LAYOUT.

Description[]

The description should descibe what the article tries to achieve, ideally in 2 or 3 sentences.

Article body[]

Description

This section should explain some of theory about why it may be useful, how it is possible, ideally with links to respective articles

Needs

This section should explain which resources must be obtained before the reader may proceed to the next section

Steps

This section should explain in steps. Each step should be its own section and should have at least 3-5 things to do. The title should be "Step x: Short description of what's the goal in this section" where "x" is the number of the step.

Alternatives
  • If there are any alternative ways of doing it, they should be listed in alternatives section.
