In "The Order of the Stone" Reuben plays an important role by blocking the user from chasing after Ivor. To get past Reuben, you must destroy Sigge's chicken machine to scare Reuben away, thus letting the user chase after Ivor.
In "A Journey's End?" Hadrian reveals he has taken the user's friends and put them into jail cells. After Hadrian reveals that, he says he has the user's best friend Reuben. Not knowing that Reuben was a pig that died, he shows the human Reuben.
