The villager, Yumi, is a resident of the Squid Coast from the novel Minecraft Dungeons:The Rise of the Arch-Illager who advocated for Archie during the early chapters of the book, until his eventual corruption by the Orb of Dominance.
Appearance[]
In the novel, Yumi is introduced at the end of chapter three as "a clean-faced woman with sandy skin."
Story[]
Yumi is rather notable as she was the first villager to be kind to an illager, in this case, Archie, where she took him in after he escaped the bullying of his brethren, as he was different from them. Despite this, she was still initially cautious of him, as she does very nearly orders an Iron Golem to kill him. Even after Archie proves himself to her and the village, there is still some tension between them. However, Yumi’s actions in supporting Archie shows that she viewed did not view the illagers as a collective group and viewed each individual villager and illager as a person in their own right. She even supported Archie after he punched the hero known only as Smacker, which caused the other villagers to force him out due to their own fear of upsetting the heroes and their trade. After wandering for some time, Archie eventually found the Orb of Dominance in the cavern and left Yumi behind as well as forsaking his life in the village.
