A glow squid is a passive squid variant that can be found within the various missions of Minecraft Dungeons.

Appearance[]

Glow squids look similar to how it looks within the original game with a slight difference of having slightly thicker tentacles and having the ability to blink its eyes.

Glow squids swim around, squirting ink when attacked, which inflicts the Blind effect on the hero.

The eponymous squid is a passive glow squid variant that can be found be found at the secret squid party within the squid coast of Minecraft Dungeons.

Appearance[]

The eponymous squid is a giant glow squid, bigger than the hero. Other than its large size, it has the same texture as its smaller counterparts.

Spawning[]

Secret squid party[]

In the mission, the secret squid party can be triggered by finding four patches of sunflowers in a specific order and standing by the flowers for a moment, then a button appears near them. Press all of the buttons in the right order and go back to the start of the mission and roll over to the bridge with the gold chest. In addition to the eponymous squid, several regular glow squids spawn there as well. There are also fireworks and music.[1]

Trivia[]

  • There is an achievement referred to by the name "Iceologer's Revenge" that is obtained by using the ice wand to defeat a glow squid. It is a reference to the iceologer losing to the glow squid in the mob vote of the original game.
  • The eponymous squid concept originally came about from a joke among the developers about having a secret squid boss appear within the Squid Coast.[2]
