Low Quality[]

What's the point in this page if there are no text instructions? Someone needs to rewrite this, 101.103.150.142 06:07, 20 April 2014 (UTC).

I really get mad when people post video tutorials... they suck your time and you can not know if they are useless or not prior to watching. Plus some kid makes money out of your views. --93.149.180.20 00:06, 5 May 2016 (UTC)
Wow, a bunch of videos. I appreciate folks sharing, but does nobody write things down anymore? Why do I need to watch a 30 minute video for what should be less than a 1 or 2 minute read? –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 172.68.35.94 (talk) at 16:34, 10 December 2016 (UTC). At least tell us how the hell do you add mods to the server, incomplete and with video tutorials... jeez... - 201.212.54.97 14:09, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

Out of date[]

This page is six minecraft versions out of date. If Forge isn't *officially* recognised by Mojang, as reminded by the big header, what's the point of this page being present at all?

An easy answer: Because Minecraft Servers Wiki is dead too.
A bit of clarification: As you may know, there are 3 Gamepedia Minecraft Wikis - Minecraft Wiki (this wiki), FTB Wiki and Minecraft Servers Wiki. Unfortunately, Minecraft Servers Wiki ended up as a flop. No activity, no support and very little recognition by the community. While FTB wiki is much better with it, it seems like it may be a little bit too far, since there are limits of what mods can be documented there. Now, there could be a different wiki, but... you're on a wiki part of "Gamepedia Minecraft wikis alliance". Minecraft Wiki is definetely not about innovation or "competion" type of wikis. Minecraft Wiki tries to survive with 1/4 of editors it once had (there was a moment, when 1200 editors were a common number). The wiki is also heavily affected by Microsoft (and their agreenmemt terminations and various opinions about Fandom spread across), Fandom's changes (for example, the previous, which got rid of anonymous editing), the community's disinterrest in the wiki and Minecraft's downfall in popularity. And people here just seem to like to live in this small world of 3 Minecraft Wikis, which is completelty fine in my opinion. Just it also means you'll not get this elsewhere. We've tried few things to promote tutorials, but that ended up the way it did. The namespace wasn't approved, the project to establish style guide failed and is unfinished and the community just does something else.
But you can help us fix it --TreeIsLife (talk) 22:18, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
