Fast-Track Funding Program Israeli Tech Companies Program's Description As a quick response to the challenges tech companies are facing, as a result of the “Iron Swords” war, the Israel Innovation Authority is offering a “Fast Track” funding program to support technological companies and projects. Goal of the incentive program This funding program operates through the Innovation Authority’s R&D fund and is designed for innovative Israeli tech companies with a short runway (up to 6 months) that are in the process of raising capital. Those companies that experience challenges in raising capital due to the situation and in need of bridge funding, are the target of this program. Who is the incentive program for? The fast track is designed for Israeli companies who are in the midst of development/early sales with substantial assets (technologies, unique team, consumers etc). What do you get? The Innovation Authority will offer up to 7.5 million NIS grants under this program, 50% of which will be matched by existing or new investors. https://lnkd.in/evWas9nr

Tel Aviv rises to 4th place in the annual ranking of the global technological innovation ecosystem 2024 by Startup Genome Tel Aviv climbed 1 place to fourth place in an annual report that ranked the most attractive innovation ecosystem in the world for startups & innovation. Los Angeles is 4th place as well & California's Silicon Valley is in 1st place. New York & London share second place. The report ranks the top 40 tech startup hubs in more than 300 ecosystems worldwide, collecting data on 4.5 million startups. A higher ecosystem ranking increases the chances of global success for early-stage startups. The top five global ecosystems are worth $4.4 trillion – based on exits and startup valuations – or 54% of the total of the top 40 hubs. The remaining 35 ecosystems are worth a combined $4 trillion. Tel Aviv's technological ecosystem was valued at $235 billion, compared to a global average of $29.4 billion. For the annual ranking, the research company measured five success factors: 1. Performance, which takes into account the number and growth of exits and how many successful startups; 2. Access to financing and its quality; 3. Market reach, or the ability to tap into global markets; 4. How easy it is to recruit top talent; 5. Knowledge, a measure of the impact of advertising and patents. Israeli startups are facing dwindling financial pathways amid a fundraising drought following political unrest in the first nine months of 2023 and the outbreak of war with the Hamas terrorist group on October 7. During the ongoing fighting, the Israeli army recruited hundreds of thousands of reservists, some of whom remain in uniform. Venture capital funding raised by Israeli startups in 2023 dropped by 58% year-on-year and amounted to $7.3 billion, returning to levels last seen in 2018, and after record years in 2020 to 2022. Entrepreneurs from Tel Aviv face unprecedented challenges, yet continue to build impeccable technologies and fast-growing businesses that successfully penetrate global markets." The 2024 Startup Ecosystem report, published annually since 2012, noted that Tel Aviv led all five top ecosystems except Silicon Valley in the second part of 2023, with seven such transactions. The largest exit was Oddity, an online consumer technology that debuted on the Nasdaq stock market, valued at over $2 billion. The acquisition of the Tel Aviv startup Run:ai for AI workload management by Nvidia announced in April was cited as a "positive signal" in the report. Tel Aviv startups also receive reinforcements from a "strong" network of venture capital funds, the report states. In January, the VC company Cardumen Capital, which invests in early-stage software and hardware startups, raised $120 million for its second fund. In July 2023 , VC TLV Partners announced its fifth fund worth $250 million, and in August, early-stage venture capital fund Symbol closed its seed fund, raising a total of $50 million.

Spatial computer that seamlessly integrates the functionality of a laptop with the capabilities Of Augmented Reality (AR). A 100-inch virtual workspace replaces the need for a physical screen. This is my new work uniform: Two weeks ago several of my coworkers were fired for calling for an end to Project Nimbus - a joint contract between Google and Amazon signed in 2021 which provides cloud services to the Israeli government and its military. This was the most recent of many attempts by workers to end the contract. Google should not be providing its services to ANY military. As a global company with billions of users, in nearly every country, making more money than many GDPs, it is an abuse of power and inhumane. Any technology can be used for benefit or detriment. A hammer can build a house and also bash a skull. I’m proud of the technology that Google has developed to facilitate early cancer detection, connect people during crisis and facilitate accessibility. Those same technologies will be used by militaries to kill. Google has a duty to be a responsible steward of its products. Aside from the moral issues, Google’s military contracts are a sign of competitive weakness. To enter this space should be a sign to investors that Google is desperate to maintain revenue growth. Google is a publicly traded company owned by the totality of its shareholders - not its leadership. Take a look at this picture. It was taken today at our Salesforce offices in Tel-Aviv. It shows a few dozens of Salesforce Israel employees in one of our regular all-hands meetings. What's so special about that? Well, that picture was taken exactly 36 hours after Iran launched a massive aerial strike against Israel with 100s of UCAVs, ballistic and cruise missiles carrying about 60 tons(!) of explosives. Thanks to the Israeli Air force, the air forces of the US, UK, France, Jordan and others *and* Israeli innovation and engineering talent who developed the most advanced multi-layered air defense systems in the world - luckily that attack ended up with relatively low impact. It was a sleepless night for all us in Israel who got an advanced notice of the attack and basically spent that night bracing for impact. Now take another look at this picture. 36 hours later - People showing up at the office, talking to each other, having a few laughs, having meetings, discussing deadlines, solving business problems, discussing engineering problems, doing demos, having coffee and lunch together, having an all-hands meeting together. 36 hours ago we were bracing for impact of 60 tons of explosives that were about to fall out of the sky. OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever has left and is launching a new AI competitor in Israel, focusing on safety. The implications are huge. For me, this news is exciting for two main reasons: 1. I truly believe AI will surpass human intelligence within a few years. 2. This is a great sign for the Israeli tech ecosystem. We've been leaders in cybersecurity for some time, but in the realm of large AI models, we're still catching up.
