Yes Man wouldn't be a reference to the Film, rather the phrase that the film is named after.JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard 21:56, October 20, 2010 (UTC)

The character combined with the use of Dave Foley as the voice actor is an allusion to Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy where one of the characters he played was the mostly sycophantic assistant Marv.--OvaltinePatrol 22:51, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

What's Boone's Take?[]

I'm thinking of doing Yes-Man's quests, but after poking around it seems one abandons allegiance to other factions in doing so. I've been with the NCR up until now, with Boone as my companion. If I go through with the Wild Card questline, will Boone stay with me, or will he threaten to leave because we aren't working with NCR?

I don't know, but it's worth pointing out that the faction loyalty system is so glitchy that you might get away with it even if he is 'supposed' to take issue with it. Just saying. 81.178.143.93 23:00, October 25, 2010 (UTC)
Boone doesn't care as long as you aren't working for the legion. --Toksyuryel 13:48, October 31, 2010 (UTC)
Seems that way. If you start doing legion quests Boone warns you once then leaves if you persist in helping the Legion, (so I'm told)
Boone does not leave unless your reputation with the NCR goes below neutral, or your reputation with the Legion goes above neutral. However, it seems as though having a mixed reputation with either faction can stop him from leaving, and you will get a quest called 'Don't Tread On The Bear' which will warn you not to work with Mr. House, Yes Man, or the Legion---Grammarlad 14:10, January 12, 2011 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure that Boone will happily slaughter any NCR after you've completed One for My Baby

DO NOT slaughter NCR after that quest. I went on a rampage at Camp McCarran (after taking all the chems I could find at once :D) and Boone left me. Then I Ballistic-Fisted him in the face.

Disappears?[]

I went through the story and I got to a point in my first play through past Caeser capturing Benny and from the point after I let him escape at Tops, Yes Man's disappeared. Is he somewhere else or is he gone completely, because I'm having the same issue on my second and third different characters.

Not sure, he dissapeared for me too, would like to know if this is supposed to happen or if this will be fixed in a later patch.

He leaves the casino and stands out front. Remember to sign your edits, even if you don't log in. 71.103.177.123 18:24, October 28, 2010 (UTC)

Yes Man's face/"more assertive"[]

I was looking for a decent happy face on a computer similar to that of Yes Man earlier, and came across a smiley that was identical to his on Google Images: [1]. Is it some sort of reference to anything or just an image they picked up somewhere which has been used by others before?

Also I'm guessing Yes Man mentioning how he will become "more assertive" at the end of the game if he's in charge means he'll essentially become a version of Mr. House; since House was always ready for anything, so perhaps the 'pieces of code' were there intentionally if House ever died, sort of enabling him to take over Yes Man if he uploaded himself as Benny planned. Just a thought.

Yeah, I have this strange feeling that Yes Man is going to find little use for the Courier in the future, or he might ultimately betray you. In either of which case, I can tell whatever is going to happen if they expand the game through DLC, that it's going to be extremely cliche. That would be quite a disappointment. I actually like Yes Man, out of all the characters in the game. Who knows, maybe it just means that he's going to be more affirmative in his actions, maybe he'll want to expand instead of stick to simply New Vegas, we'll have to wait and see. 74.102.88.174 05:24, November 11, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think that the "more assertive" comment refers to an attempt to take over. It seems more likely to me that he is upgrading himself so that he only listens to and takes orders from the Courier, rather than anyone. If he betrayed you, why wouldn't it be in the epilogue? As for DLC, I don't think they'd make him betraying you a major plot point. What would they do for the other 3 endings then?

Another possibility is that Yes Man will become independent enough so that the Courier can leave him in control of New Vegas and strike out on another adventure. In other words, he won't become the slave of the first person who wanders into his office. Wunengzi 05:26, June 24, 2011 (UTC)

In any event, the speculation about the "more assertive" line is just that, speculation. Might want to clarify that in the article.72.49.140.245 21:47, November 12, 2010 (UTC)

spawn id for yes man[]

i got the failure at vault 11 and killed the boomers so my last hope is yes man whom i never met can you help me to spawn him ?

annoying bug[]

when turning in the side bets quest after killing house and yes man being on the main frame the player camera view is locked, avoided by turning in all parts of quest before killing or disabling house while yes man is still in the tops

Bug[]

After talking to all groups in 'side bets' i went to report to Yes man and now he won't talk to me. Any ideas how to fix this? Maybe a console command to initiate dialog or something >.<

Teleporting to Yes Man[]

Has anyone tried teleporting to Yes Man using player.moveto console command? I tried it and got teleported to some weird room that was filled with these kids that were shooting me, a few NCR troopers, and some dogs that were hostile. Just wondering wth that room is because its like a maze that leads me straight back to the middle or a dead end. --98.203.163.218 00:25, December 24, 2010 (UTC)

Killing Him[]

I just want to loose the Wild Card Quests, I got them before I killed Benny I didn't say I had any intent for taking over new Vegas and I'm wondering if I can...I dunno get rid of him even if it means failing the Quests Zachariah Zuan 18:07, December 30, 2010 (UTC)

He attacked me[]

Headline says it all. He attacked me because I shot him with an anti material rifle. Isn't he not supposed to attack you?--Blahmarrow 00:10, January 17, 2011 (UTC)

I know this is not that important but doe's anyone else get creeped out by Yes Man's face?

ABSOLUTELY!

Can Yes Man Affect The NCR?[]

If I put Yes Man in Mr. House's central mainframe, what would happen to the NCR quests?

Ranger Breasly 00:34, April 23, 2011 (UTC)

NCR Reputation Bug[]

Has anybody else had a bug where their fame is idolized with the NCR. Then spoke with Yes Man, then had their NCR reputation set to good natured rascal with them? Any help with increasing reputation back is appreciated. KiwiBird 15:29, May 29, 2011 (UTC)

Those faces aren't real, are they?[]

I call bull. Those "unused faces" do not look legit. In fact, they look like they were done on MS Paint.YesManIsSexy 20:52, June 20, 2011 (UTC)

They're of the same quality as his default face, so I don't see why not. --Kris User Hola 20:55, June 20, 2011 (UTC)

I just... dunno. Maybe it's just me, but they just look... odd. I've never seen them before. YesManIsSexy 06:30, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

Well yea, I don't imagine you would have seen them before, considering they're unused. --Kris User Hola 14:54, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

No, I mean that I've never seen them anywhere else on the Internet. Yeah, I've seen Victor's unused face and Mr. House's unused face elsewhere on the Internet, but this is the only place I've seen the Yes Man faces. It also looks like a different style of drawing than the used one. Victor's unused face looks like the same artist made his used one, same with House. I don't know. Maybe I'm just going crazy... 174.30.8.3 21:07, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

Those faces also seem fake to me. Plus Ive never seen a Securitron change faces. Intel480 (talk) 15:35, March 28, 2013 (UTC)

You've never seen a securitron change faces? Someone hasn't played the game very thoroughly if they haven't made the transition from standard securitrons to the Mk.II variant. ForGaroux Some Assembly Required! 15:40, March 28, 2013 (UTC)
Technically speaking, they change faces when they're in alert and combat modes. But even besides that technicality, don't forget Victor - as his face replaces the standard Securitron face, and vice versa. Digital Utopia (talk) 22:22, July 17, 2014 (UTC)
I'm so late to add this, but yeah those faces are obviously fake, the lining is sloppy and they do look like they were made in ms paint, you don't have to look closely to see it-just look at the eyebrows on the first one. Wondering why they're still even in the gallery. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Waka78 (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Stop adding about the film[]

Don't add about the film because:

A) The film is based on the book, so if anything it would be a reference to the book. Which it isn't.
B) In the book the man just says yes to everything. A 'yes man' is "Someone who agrees to everything suggested by their superior". Basically, a suck up. Not someone who just says yes.
C) The reason the book/film is called Yes Man is because it in turn is a reference to the phrase Yes Man. Here at The Vault we don't reference references so we can't do it here.

JASPER//"Do you like hurting other people?"UserRichard 21:42, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

It's not a reference to anything. Period. A yes man is a yes man. A person who agrees to everything. The film/book wasn't named "Yes Man" as a reference, it was named that because it was about a yes man.

It's like saying that the in game item "Fresh Apple" is a reference to apples. It isn't. It's just a fucking apple.--62.30.162.142 03:57, February 29, 2012 (UTC)

Has anyone thought yes man might be the followers ending?[]

After the end credits yes man does say he will become more assertive but if you listen throughout his dialogue doenst always agree with the player

Like if you want to save the brotherhood or if you dont want to upgrade the securitrons, both times he pressures you one way and also benny didnt reprogram him, it was that follower, the same one who wants to be in the mainframe anyway

The Follower's ending is separate from the main story. Yes Man default 08:04, July 14, 2011 (UTC)

Two playthroughs in one?[]

I've done 2 playthroughs of new vegas so far, one legion and one ncr. I want to fully experience each storyline, but I don't want to have to start over, get all my favorite weapons again, etc. Can I do all of Mr. House's quests, load to before hoover dam, and then fully go through yes man? I wish New Vegas made it easier to do more playthroughs with the same character. Like save the character and their house, then start the game over from the beginning (or at least an early enough point to redo all faction stuff) and let you go on without having to go to vault 34 (ugh) again on each playthrough to get all american, do dealing with contreras for this machine, etc. Willbiteu 20:37, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

Um, wow. Why don't you try making more than one save? Every time you get to a "point of no return" branching point in the main quest, make a new save, keep the old one seperate. Then you can have a seperate save for each ending, all on the "same" character.--The.true.samiam 05:25, August 29, 2011 (UTC)

expecting me to do something?[]

I think it would be nice to have like a timer when the war will take place. I actually got annoyed at how I am supposed to have something to do with the war. Even if i complete the main quest missions, they still wait for me to go to hoover dam.

I agree that it is not very realistic. But how annoyed would you be, if you always had a timer somewhere on the screen, and if you took to long the battle started regardless of what you were doing? Especially since the game stops after you complete the battle. --Jak29 21:23, March 23, 2012 (UTC)

Glitched Ending[]

Is there any sure fire way to avoid the glitched Yes Man ending that plays as if you destroyed the fort securitrons even when you upgraded them?
