Possible bug[]

This armor has an item health of nearly 10 million HP, the helmet has nearly 1 million HP. I think the devs accidentally placed the wrong version inside the cache - there are 2 versions of each armor and weapon in the DLC, one for the simulation (with unusual high item health so it appears like they don't degrade) and a "Wasteland" version. The Wasteland version of this armor has normal item health, can be repaired using T-4x power armors (the simulation version cannot) and the same stats. // Porter21 U | T 18:40, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

We should have a HP field in the armor infobox, shouldn't we? Ausir 18:45, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Definitely. I'll add it. // Porter21 U | T 18:58, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
How many Fat Man shots would it take to break that armour? PlasmaFox 19:02, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Actually, if you went out to 'test' it, you'd end up dead, but your armor would still be nice and shiny. Just a guess, but 6,207 hits from a Fat Man, give or take. That would take approximately 6.9 hours, assuming that it takes 4 seconds between shots, and also assuming that the gun stays at full 100% condition. Which, it won't. Frankly, your Fat Man would break from firing shells before your armor would break from blocking shells. Now that's some tough armor. --Stedh 00:56, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
I heard it can be repaired with t-4x armor?
What's the ID of the wasteland version? Ausir 02:40, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
Only the "Wasteland" version (which you cannot obtain without using the console) can be repaired with T-4x Power Armor, the simulation/weapon cache version cannot. // Porter21 U | T 09:42, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
The Wasteland version has the IDs 0100C18D (armor) and 0100C18E (helmet). // Porter21 U | T 09:42, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

I gavve my set to Charon. Kind of a waste, but hey, it's awesome watching him just stroll into a dang barrage and walk out like it was nothing. Backspace-Yao-Guai 23:05, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

I am sick of having to fix this every week! being able to equip the armour is NOT a bug, you get the training from the simulation, ITS NOT A FREKIN BUG!!! stop saying it isKatikar 20:05, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Repair?[]

The "cut" version (the lower hp one) can be repairred using classic t-45d's. The helmet can be repaired with respective helmet versions of power helmet. I suggest changing the main article from the person that claimed it couldn't be done, or confirm it can be done. - Matt

have fun while it lasts[]

this 10mil hp bug/mix up is going to get way too big on forums, cheat sites, and wiki sites(like this one). sooner or later Bethesda is going to get news of this and going to release an update/patch to fix this. so have fun while it lasts because they are going to release patch. count my words.--That70sdude 19:08, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

its been a year and they still havent fixed it, so GUESS WHAT? 87.177.22.148 15:17, January 18, 2010 (UTC) 6 years and no fix. 174.51.122.56 07:44, January 10, 2015 (UTC)

DR[]

How long would it take to go from 45DR to 44DR because since it can't be repaired I'm switching to Tesla armor when it hits 43DR

There are NPC's that can repair it for you, it isn't cheap, but it can be stronger that Tesla Armour. --Dragonhunter72 21:56, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

However NPC's never reach repair level 100. Crazy Wolfgang has the highest rating at 85 when fully upgraded and given a utility suit. I'm not sure what the DR is at 85%, but I'm guessing it's less than 43. In any case, with so many hit points I doubt you'll ever see the suit drop below 44 DR. 70.42.129.198 00:12, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

and if you dont want to pay you can repair it yourself

  • tidle (~)
  • player.srm
  • repair and klik done (the repair skill used is your own skill lvl)

Happy to have Unglitched Armor![]

I would love to have my armor unglitched. I can easily maintain it since Crow sells standard Power Armor. I would hate for mine to degrade and not be reapirable. I have hunted down every Behemoth and discovered every location, and even did every quest and my armor has not degrade. PitifulKnight 22:52, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Same here. I'm never taking this stuff off. Admiral Minell 15:35, 28 March 2009

Wasteland Version.[]

To those that are unclear, the "CUT VERSION" is the correct version your supposed to get. If your playing PC simply add it to the game. Codes are in the article. The version you loot from the stand in the armory is the simulation version having 10mil HP. If you are on 360 you will have to live with the moronic 10mil hp version and hope it doesn't degrade too far before your done with fallout 3. If you want the proper version you have to add it via console. It CAN be repair with normal power armor or brotherhood/outcast power armor.

Then why does mine degrade? I'm on 360. Fat Man Spoon 23:55, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

everything degrades just the 10 million HP for the item makes it degrade much slower mine has degraded to about 98% on my first playthrough and I just wade into bullets like it's water

Lancer AR 06:34, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

No, it degrades at the same rate as the regular T-51b. Lord Spoonfield III 10:59, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

So if the armor becomes too damaged, which is very unlikely as I am addicted to the CSA, we can still take it to Haley and he will repair it 100%?AgentSergei 13:04, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

You could, but I'm sure that even one or two percent would translate to thousands of HP restored, which results in a massive repair cost. Nitty 20:56, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Fixed in 1.7?[]

Can anyone else confirm that this armor has been fixed in patch 1.7 IE no longer invulnerable? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.38.9.228 (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Nope, still the same for me. -- Porter21 (talk) 14:47, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

It has always degraded for me. It's wasn't very nice to find that it was at half health after 1 hours use... Spoon 14:50, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Armor in FO3 degrades? (*has been wearing Winterized T-51b since OA release*) :P -- Porter21 (talk) 15:02, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Was wearing it, and the power armour degrades, but don't really care, it looks pretty bad. I prefer the Winterised Combat Armour which is invunerable. Spoon 15:07, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Still untouched. --HeadphoneDisaster 22:07, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

At least, there is mod that fixes the issue: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3411 P22 06:07, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU GIVE UP NEAR INDESTRUCTIBLE ARMOR?!?!?!?!?!? 68.192.9.90 03:42, September 13, 2009 (UTC)

It will never be fixed. Bethesda has been working on New Vegas for the past year or so, and they're too busy to give a shit about virtually invincible power armor and people's opinions on it. you get it, it doesnt degrade, you nnever have to worry about fixing it. period. Name not required June 23,2010 1853hrs

Expensive to repair?[]

Since the Winterized T-51b power armor hes soooo much health. Does it cost so much caps just to repair it by the npc? So waht im asking is, does the amount of health of a object effect the repair price of the npc whos repairing it?

Displaying the Power Armor[]

Anyone else wish there was some way to take the armor stand in the storage vault so that you could display the armor in your house (like a trophy of sorts) the way it looks when you first see it standing in the armory?

Me too. Vault 815 03:38, October 21, 2009 (UTC)

Still indestructible on PS3?[]

Just got O:A and was wondering if Bethesda patched it or not. I don't want to damage it if it will degrade normally (unless it can be repaired w/ other power armor) 68.192.9.90 01:49, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

EDIT: Mine doesn't degrade, and Haley still repairs to 100%. Honestly, I think Bethesda just doesn't give a shit (If I'm allowed to say that on this wiki) that the armor has so much health. Googling winterized power armor leads one straight to this sight. 68.192.9.90 03:43, October 18, 2009 (UTC)

Why not make it indestructable instead of seemingly indestructable??????[]

Couldn't Behtesda just have made the armor truly indestructable, ie not degrade, rather than giving it so much health it seems like it never degrades? I don't understand why they wouldn't have just done that instead. 98.249.221.165 03:56, November 7, 2009 (UTC)

OA winterised T-51b armor availabel by glitching?????[]

Anyone can confirm this.. Is there ANY way that the OA T-51b armor in the simulation can be brought out via the gary-23 glitch?? Someone pls confirm.....

Unless theres a console command, not that im aware of, reverse pickpocketing will not work as their armor is better than anything you could give them. however you still get the indestructable version from the stand, so whats the point? unless your trying to glitch more than one follower and have em all in it =p (Shanmalinto 09:52, January 13, 2010 (UTC))

charisma?[]

i know it dose this for other power armour helmets (enclave actually gives minus 1) but what is the reasoning behind the chrisma bonus? is it just reasuring to have an impossibly well armored guy fighting for you?Katikar 15:22, January 18, 2010 (UTC)

Faction-wise mostly. People know who the Brotherhood of Steel are, and they can usually be trusted, Unlike the Enclave, who lie and spread propaganda. T-51B was the armor of the BoS out west, so same basic thing. 17:29, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

Probably either you see someone in a near invincible armor talking with you, and i'd feel pretty cool by then, or that if you disagree, they could just kill you, and nothing you could do at that moment would hurt them.

Ruined good armor.[]

I'd respect this armor a lot more if the Pip-boy didn't make the left arm look like a scrawny little stick poking out of the arm. Seriously, removing the other forearm plate ruined this armor completely. I gladly left it in it's stand at the outpost. 17:28, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

Stealing?[]

I took the suit, and then as I walked around a bit grabbing the other stuff I noticed one of the Outcasts was being shot at by everyone else. After the lone Outcast died the rest targeted me. I had no choice but to kill them. Any ideas on what suddenly made them all turn hostile? --142.161.19.136 05:13, March 15, 2010 (UTC)

Its a scripted event sibley goes all whiney on you after you open the armory and mutinies against mcgraw and olin (they stay friendly and if you keep her alive olin repairs gear) once they are done with olin and mcgraw they start on you. (91.104.94.3 10:15, March 15, 2010 (UTC))

Exploit for 2[]

Just a thought, but would it be possible to use the reverse pickpocket technique to acquire one in the simulation? Cause, if possible, you could use the Gary glitch to take it out of the sim and into the real world thus giving you two sets of the armor. Although, this is impossible because the reverse pickpocket exploit only works if the armor you are giving them is stronger than the one they are wearing, and this armor is very powerful so... well you guys are experts on this. Still, could someone at least try?206.75.2.99 03:30, May 21, 2010 (UTC)

Not without console commands. Unless you can find a way to smuggle something INTO operation anchorage (the actual T-51b) and reverse-pickpocket, there's no other way.

Power Armor training[]

The only way to get this item is through doing the simulation; by doing the simulation, you receive power armor training. However, if you manage to acquire this item through other means (such as console commands on the PC) you will need to already have Power Armor training before you can equip it. This applies to both the sim version, and the (unused) wasteland version, which is added back into the game on the PC using the Unofficial O:A Patch mod. Kris (talk) 22:19, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

Bugs[]

  1. Sometimes, the Winterized T51b armor never degrades (confirmed on PS3 and XboX 360)

Should this be on the page in the bug section since its covered that the armor has high item health? --Alpha Lycos 09:41, December 23, 2010 (UTC)

"sometimes" really doesn't help anyone. Really, it's horrible info, could someone check the G.E.C.K. to confirm or deny this? find out what or why causes it... Blaze55555 09:22, January 30, 2011 (UTC)

Its already on the page which is why I'm questioning it. The Armor has over a million in health(can't remember exact number) and doesn't seemingly degrade, I've played through the entire game and never had it degrade at all. According to the page, its said in the GECK that it has such high health so I doubt it would be a bug if it doesn't degrade--Alpha Lycos 09:25, January 30, 2011 (UTC)

2. So for fun, I was going to see if I could kill everyone in paradise falls without a single stimpack. I show up, pull out my minigun, and fire. it goes about 45 degrees to the right of the crosshair in 3rd person. Went back to my house, and it does it for the experimental MIRV, flamer, gatling laser, minigun, and missile launcher all. these are the only big guns I have in my house, but its the same for all of them, only when using the winterized version of the t-51b.

Has anyone else encountered this? would it be worth noting in the bugs section? I'm currently on PS3. --Enclave Scientist 08:07, October 20, 2011 (UTC)

well its been four years and this armor still has almost 1mill HP. Thanks Bethesda for this kick ass armor. >_< - Anonymous 06/10/2013
