Threesome[]

Really hardcore a threesome?!?! I don't care if it cuts out to the next day or what ever I really want to know dose this actually happen-Vault009Dweller 19:24, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

I don't know why, but i couldn't reproduce the situation where a threesome is possible. Can't be my char is missing any somewhat quality since it's an 100% everything up to max character. Also got the ladykiller perk and tried as both male and female. Tried different variations in dialogue for the last two hours, also gave away all Nuka-Cola Quantum.. Got no clue. Does anyone? St0op kid 13:26, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

The Threesome dialog option makes the guy run to the Nuka-Cola Plant and die, so no threesome is possible.

Yeah I saw the vid on Youtube. My point was, i didn't have the dialogue option. Propably because i had an male char, concole-changed it to female, and so had just the ladykiller perk, whereas the black widow perk would have been necessary. Forgot about that detail.. Trucks?[]

I should rephrase the previous question. has anyone yet found any of the 3 Nuka-Cola trucks? All i know is that one is near the Super Duper Mart, one near Paradise Falls Shopping Mart , and the third is located near Old Olney Grocery. You can grab this info from the Nuka-Cola Plant, along with three bottles of Quantum Nuka-Cola ( by activating the shipping belt). Please post the locations of these trucks if you find them, preferably along with a pic of the map where you are standing.

Pretty sure that you will find stockpiles of Nuka-Cola/Nuka-Cola Quantum at those locations, however, the shipment to Old Olney didn't get there in time and instead got stuck on the road

Re: Trucks?[]

Yeah, I can't find them either but I've searched the perimeters of all those places.

This guy has gotten some sort of guide http://au.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/fallout3/show_msgs.php?topic_id=m-1-46362672&pid=939933&page=0 203.91.84.7 07:21, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

I haven't found any trucks near the Super Duper Mart. I don't think there are any trucks, just locations with more NCQ in them. Super Duper Mart had like 6-7 NCQ in it. After you hack the NC Factory computer it will mark your map with 'Test Site 1' 2 and 3 and those correlate with where teh 'trucks' suppossedly are. Ralphredimix 07:26, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Which version are you guys playing because it's been stressed that is not in the PS3 versions-Vault009Dweller 19:26, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm playing the PC version 203.91.84.7 14:50, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

There is a truck East of Old Olney, near a Red Rocket. I've searched around the Super-Duper Mart, but have not found one, and south of Paradise Falls has turned up nothing. So it may be that the Old Olney truck is the only one that didn't make its delivery; the other two places have Quantum in stock. 137.99.139.67 21:50, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Quantity seems to be based on level.[]

I only got 3 at the Super-Duper Mart in the back room and there was none in the vending machines. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the locations obtained from the Nuka-Cola Factory behave the same way.

Dude, You Need To Look In The Back Room At The Super Duper Mart, At Paradise Falls They Are In Eulogy's Pad Behind The Stairs, And If You Go To Old Olney Grocery You Willl Find A Note Telling That The Truck Crashed At The Gas Station West Of Old Olney

Moving the Locations Section[]

Instead of duplicating information on two separate pages, would it make sense to link this page to the Nuka-Cola Quantum page for location information (or vice versa)? Something like: See the Nuka-Cola Quantum page for specific bottle locations.72.22.16.198 15:11, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

I think that would be a great idea. There should be at least a link from this page to it. 203.91.84.7 13:29, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
I've moved the list from Nuka-Cola Quantum article.RDGST 18:02, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Why? If anything, it would make more sense for it to be the other way around. People might want to know the locations of the Quantum even without the quest. IMHO it would make more sense to have the locations there. Ausir 18:04, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
There is a note in Nuka-Cola Quantum article on the list of locations. I think it will play a role of a walkthrough here. Moreover people not aware of the quest may want to know about it before they use up all their stash. RDGST 18:09, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
It also doesn't make sense for most players to even consider using a Quantum. Why would you use an item to gain something that takes you literally 3 seconds to get? And without any side effects for addiction AND radiation... Phiinix 20:56, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Loss of potential grenades[]

Is the only way to get your Quantum back through the console (and thus only in the PC version)? (This is concerning those playing the XB360 version, or those who would play sans-console.) If so, even if you find all 90 Quantums out there, after giving her the 30 Quantum, leaving you with 60, you can only make 180, the same number as if you didn't do the quest in the first place, and if you find less than 90, you'll wind up with less. The only advantages would be needing less Turpentine, Abraxo, and Cans, and being 1200-2400 caps richer (and one hardly needs to fret over caps). In the end it would just be better to not even bother with this quest, if you want to make lots of Nuka-Grenades like I do. NightChime 08:32, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

The number 90 refers to the placed Quantum. Quantum is also randomly generated in (at least) Nuka-Cola machines. I've found at least a half-dozen in my current playthrough that way, which means an extra 6 grenades. So you get a few thousand caps, a chunk of XP, less materials, and if you find even 1 randomly generated Quantum, you'll make more than if you didn't. --DarkJeff 19:22, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Darkjeff, that's if you happen to find every single last NCQ and happen to get lucky and find a few more. Since there's no real reward to collecting all of them, I'm going to say most people won't have all of them and therefore it would be more efficient to not bother with this quest. Hell, I've got 60+ hours of gameplay, I've only got ~50 NCQ. NightChime is right, unless you plan to find every last one (and I'm sure most people won't) it's easier to go with the additional required turpentines, abraxo cleaners and tin cans. They're ridiculously abundant, if not the most abundant items in the whole game.Coodude26 05:29, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

As far as the xbox 360 version goes, just save before giving Sierra the NCQ, get the achievement, and reload a previous save. Then, take the WarMonger perk at level 26. It gets you the version 3 schematics, without losing any precious NCQ. This is assuming you not only have broken steel, but have 7 intelligence as well. Also, if you have the Quantum Chemist perk, you can get an infinite (theoretically of course) amount of NCQ, because every 10 bottles of nuka cola are converted to a NCQ. --Doomination 21:13, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Steal Them Back?[]

After I gave Sierra the 30 Quantums, I tried to steal them back buy the Nuka-Cola machine says a key is required (Xbox) and when I picked her pockect, she didn't have a key.

Has anyone found a way to get them back?

Unfortunately, it seems to be impossible in the Xbox. The Machine can only be opened using the console command "unlock" or so in the pc-version. According to the Sierra Petrovita-article, the key does not exist. St0op kid 19:27, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Can the Nuca-Cola Quantums be stolen back from Ronald?Xclockwatcher 17:01, September 15, 2009 (UTC)
  • I made the mistake of not saving before selling them to Ronald. Now I can't get the schematic (without about 45 minutes of playing catch up). The machine key doesn't exist? And the schematics weren't on Sierra or Ronald post-mortem... What a crappy idea that was. :( -musicfeind2001 98.235.222.22 23:12, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

The Missing Safe[]

Article: Two safes contain 1 Quantum each, according to GECK. One is in Friendship Metro; the location of the other safe is not clear. I've found this missing safe. I believe it's in one of the power stations, but I can't remember exactly which. I've been turning on all the radio towers and power stations to see if anything will happen--lots of those places have safes, so I can't know exactly which one had the Quantum, but I know that so far it's been the only one locked "Hard". Rico the Spirited 18:50, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

I put that on the page, Rico - and good thinking on your part. I checked out what was in "zPS08", saw a Small Guns book, checked the Small Guns Book page (see 22), and voila. If you want, you can delete this section after reading this. -RedKnight7 07:17, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Karma reward.[]

Is it just me, but why is this worth 300 karma?

Helping some clueless bimbo get enough soft drink to fill her machine, especially since you are getting a reward.

By the same token, why is giving Ronald the drinks to impress her bad Karma. So the guy wants to sleep with her and wants to impress her by getting her a gift - pretty much the status quo for plenty of relationships. If someone gives their girlfriend a diamond ring, does the guy have to mine the diamonds himself and make the ring for it to be a valid gift?

It's not like he hasn't done anything for her, protecting her from raiders, etc., and it's not like he is asking you to spike her drink with radscorp poison to cripple her, or hold her down so he can rape her.

Watching his unsuccessful moves is funny :P 203.91.84.7 12:39, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
IMHO, the bad karma for aiding Ronald is because giving a gift or doing a favor does not mean the recipient is obligated to have sex with you, and that's how he sees things. Sierra is pretty much an innocent - she doesn't even get it when you tell her Ronald wants to get into her pants. Beyond that, Ronald is a creep. If you've discovered Grady's last message, you know Ronald went so far as to order himself 'naughty nightwear'. Would you want this kind of guy dating your sister because he gave her a bottle of pop? Shadowgm 13:26, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Shadowgm
I'm ok with getting good karma for finding a hard-to-get item like Quantum for someone like Sierra who really enjoys it.. The bad karma for helping Ronald makes no sense at all.. The person who posted this discussion item did a good job of laying out the reasons why.. IMO you should get good karma for helping Ronald - a guy who is so lame that he cant hookup with this girl even when he is the only male that she ever comes in contact with.. Plus, how is the world ever going to repopulate itself if people arent encouraged to get together and mate. Thats worth some good karma right there.. This particular quest, or at least the karma choices in the quest, must have been designed by a female member of Bethesda's Fallout team. 67.172.16.255 22:01, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

why is this a big deal?24.81.14.82 05:03, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

Because it's an awkward part of the story. Considering that giving the Naughty nightwear gives a karma boost (when it's used for sedusive purposes), while giving 30 Quantums for seduction purposes lowers karma, it becomes hard to tell what's going on. If anything, it probably should have been a neutral karma path. --18:44, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Meh,i just killed him with The 'strangers 44.magnum,then shot him four more times to be sure, and why did i do it? CAUSE I WANTed THAT GODDAMN KNEECAPPER!

i perspnaly think helping seirra should give bad karma, i mean if you give phyco to paulie(an addict) you get bad karma, but if you give quantum to seirra(an addict) you get good karma,wtf?-Joehanson

Good work chaps[]

I think this page has been done very well. Good work everyone. 203.91.84.7 12:40, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Statistically speaking[]

The chance of finding a Quantum in one of the 152 vending machines is quite small (10%), so vending machines should NOT be listed here.

The chance might be "quite small" but that means on an average playthrough the player is likely to find 15.2 of them in those vending machines, sometimes more, sometimes less. I think readers will want to take their chances, and there is apparently no other page that lists the locations of all the vending machines, so I say it is appropriate to list them here. --68.255.6.203 23:15, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Why not list all the vending machines on the Nuka-Cola vending machine article? --MadDawg2552 20:22, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Locations[]

I think I found a new location: Under a power line tower, SW of Minefield. Should be next to a skeleton. Could anyone else verify this?JAPH42 22:38, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Confirmed. 67.183.170.234 19:40, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

Quantum locations / merge[]

We have two lists of Quantum locations, one here and one at Nuka-Cola Quantum. We don't really need two, I'd suggest to merge the list from this page over at the Quantum article and simply link to it from here. // Porter21 U | T 01:28, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Agreed. Cleans up the article and keeps the information. --Turbine2k5 (What I am... - What I hear... - What I do...) 18:32, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Converted to table and moved. // Porter21 U | T 19:58, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Progress[]

Is it possible to find out how many nuka cola quantum bottles you have delivered already? I did not try to find 30 at once, but every now and then I go to Girdershade to drop some off. I have no idea how far I've progressed.

yes, for each 5 you give her she tells you how many 69.140.35.147 01:30, September 20, 2009 (UTC)
No, sorry. TearsOfBlood 03:56, September 12, 2009 (UTC)

The Ledoux Warning at the top[]

Is that cool with you guys? I assume it is universally accepted that this is a certainty if you finish this quest first? I have played through 5 times and twice I missed it because I forgot, and have yet to see him anywhere else if I did miss it. I am tired of seeing people miss that mask (I've seen people RESTART their game because of it 30 hours in!) due to the game making him disappear due to finishing this quest first. I figured if it was bold at the top people would be much less likely to make that mistake. Should we put a warning about this anywhere else? --Jimimorrison 09:41, September 30, 2009 (UTC)

--Not sure what you're talking about in this post. Who dissappears? plz explain. -musicfeind2001

Sierra Mist[]

I'm removing the Sierra Mist reference until someone can prove the relevance. Kris (talk) 16:02, July 26, 2010 (UTC)

just for the taste of it only available during -the nuka-cola challenge[]

just 5 hours ago i completed "just for the taste of it" without having "the nuka-cola challenge" in my questlog and without even setting foot in girdershade. and i can clearly remember doing such in earlier playthroughs and i believe that stating such can only be classified as missinformation, unless there is there an update for Fo3 that i missed? im playing on the pc and my current version is 1.7.0.3

Maximum money[]

"For maximum money and good Karma, it is possible to give 29 bottles to Ronald ..."

At least with three schematics for the Nuka-grenade, this doesn't make much sense, as you can get three grenades (each worth 50 caps) from a single bottle of Quantum, while Roland only pays 80 caps per Quantum. So, making nukas and selling them will give you about 50% more caps than giving Quantums to Roland.
