This page shouldn't exist[]

"Howard" is not the name of the protagonist in Fallout 4. "Howard" is simply the name Todd Howard chose for the purpose of the E3 2015 demonstration. In the subsequent Xbox One demonstration, the name of the protagonist was Phil Spencer. Whoever created this page seriously misunderstood what was happening in the demonstration.

It is more meant to be like those pre-generated characters. We have already the page Sole Survivor, but this one mimics the ones like Albert Cole, or so I have understood that. ☢ Energy X ☣ 10:26, June 28, 2015 (UTC)

>>That would be fine if we had some reason to assume "Howard" was in fact the canonical name of the Sole Survivor. However, it's clear in the context of the demonstration that "Howard" is not the canonical name but rather the name Todd Howard chose for his character. If, in the future, it comes to light that the Sole Survivor has a canonical name, it would be appropriate to add such a page, but for now it isn't. --Weigand (talk) 10:30, June 28, 2015 (UTC)

We'll see when the game comes out. If I remember correctly, the gameplay did not show that Todd chose the name for the female character, so the name Nora was chosen. One can assume it applies here as well. So in all, it seems this page's name is not appropriate and should be moved when a clear source is shown to indicate the pre-generated name for him. ☢ Energy X ☣ 10:32, June 28, 2015 (UTC)

The Main Characters in the Fallout Games have no name. There will never be a Cannon name or something else.No one have confirmed that the Player Character got a name so why does this Page show wrong Information? The Player Character will always be named Hero.Thats it —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.162.68.65 (talkcontribs). >> Agreed, neither this or the Nora page should exist. Maybe add a note to the pre-existing "Sole Survivor" page stating that in the E3 demonstration, their names were Howard and Nora, but nothing more. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ScribeMaxson (talkcontribs). Too soon to conclude?[]

Why is this sentence "If he was not chosen to be the player character, both he and Shaun are killed through unknown means." written so definitively on this page (and on Nora's page for that matter)? I don't see a source that says your spouse or child do in fact die from the blast shown in the E3 gameplay demo. It could easily be the case that they survived the war like you - or not. There's no evidence either way. I know this will all be moot when the game actually comes out but still...

(Though a couple things lead me to believe they will survive considering how you can customize them extensively with names and whatnot, which would be odd to waste on a prologue. Also, the baby is dynamically generated - again why dynamically generate a baby for just the prologue? Additionally they were right next to the PC when the nuke detonated so they had the exact same chances of surviving it as the PC did, and he/she lived. Either way, we can't say they lived or died like this page asserts.)--Enderverse (talk) 08:15, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

How do we know his name is "Nate"??[]

Any sources? Snabbhandlarn (User talk:Snabbhandlarn

I was wondering that, too. --Kittenparry (talk) 04:30, November 9, 2015 (UTC)

So was I Blitzbear93 (talk) 11:19, November 9, 2015 (UTC)Bliztbear93

Maybe someone just chose to play as Nora and saw his NPC name... but a source would be good. WhoeverReadThis (talk)WhoeverReadThis

There was a video on YouTube that showed the first thirty minutes of the game from the perspective of a female player character, but it was taken down a couple days ago. I watched it while it was up, and I'm pretty sure subtitles of the husband's dialogue identified him as Nate. But don't take my word for it. Once we have the game in our own hands (less than a day's wait), we'll be able to confirm this with absolute certainty. Clockpuncher (talk) 20:48, November 9, 2015 (UTC)
I can confirm his name is Nate, through playing as female SS. Слава Арстотцке. (talk) 16:45, November 30, 2015 (UTC)

Service Record[]

I found on a few pages multiple refrences to Nate and his military background, so I thought I should ask if its known how long he was in the military. Like did he fight in Anchorage? And also since he appeared not to know what a assaultron was that would indicate the year when he wasn't in the military.
