Appearances[]

Under appearances, it says The Mechanist only appears in Fallout 4. However that is false since the character is in Fallout 3. Not the same person, but the same character.

If it's not the same person, then by its very definition it is not the same character. A character is more than just a name. Paladin117>>iff bored; 23:21, March 22, 2016 (UTC)
Mantles of Batman, Captain America and so on were also taken by different people at different times. It's the same character despite numerous people taking the role and diving it per person is wrong. Divide it like recurring characters(Maxson, MacCready or Mysterious Stranger. Try to find a way out the last one), but don't break it into radio/Scott/Isabel because then the references to one another are lost. 80.94.160.227 10:46, March 23, 2016 (UTC) 10:46, March 23, 2016 (UTC)
A character appearing multiple times and two different characters taking on the name of another are two completely different things. And does the marvel wiki merge the Sam Wilson and Chris Evans pages because they both claimed to be Captain America? Paladin117>>iff bored; 23:30, March 23, 2016 (UTC)
So judging by your logic, when are you planning to screw up the page of Mysterious Stranger then, huh? 80.94.160.227 05:36, March 24, 2016 (UTC) 05:36, March 24, 2016 (UTC)
Totally different case. FO4's Mechanist is a different person just calling herself the "Mechanist" (she isn't). FO3's Mechanist is, as far as I know, unresolved. But both are more the person than the moniker. OTOH, the mysterious stranger is not really a character at all. However, the sentence as stated is misleading, and should include a mention of the previous mechanist. "Another mechanist appeared in FO3". But when we have a "Kelly" in both FO3 and FO4, different persons, same name, both would only appear in their respective games. --217.225.203.169 01:50, March 27, 2016 (UTC)

( According to FW:NAME...

For characters, titles and ranks should not be included in the article title. ... Full names are preferred if possible.

...which implies this article ought to be titled "Isabel Cruz", in the same way that links to "Father" point to the page Shaun. IIRC, it needs an admin to move it, though, cos the there's an existing page history for "Isabel Cruz". Aya42 (talk) 12:13, March 24, 2016 (UTC)

^That would be great. However creating metapage for Mechanist and listing some info about them too would be also good if optional. 80.94.160.227 07:20, March 30, 2016 (UTC) 07:20, March 30, 2016 (UTC)
Perhaps this should be looked at in a different way, with regards to lore and the time frame of the FO3 Mechanist. If within the Fallout Universe the FO3 Mechanist appears earlier in the time frame of the story line then perhaps it's safe to say that Isabel Cruz may have been inspired by the existence or the story of the original Mechanist. Regardless, the page is a bit misleading to assume that the only place the actual character, regardless of the individuals acting out the Mechanist, only appears in one game when in fact it appears in FO3 and FO4, the page should make some mention of that for clarity sake. Just my 2cents. (update) OK I double checked and Isabel actually makes a reference to finding a poster that inspired her, and talks about someone making up the character and even creating posters of him, This is clearly a reference to the original Mechanist who actually did create posters in Fallout 3.Coloradofree (talk) 09:16, July 11, 2016 (UTC)

Protectron's Gaze[]

If Isabel is happy enough through the Radiant Quest "Rogue Robot" her weapon, Protectron's Gaze will become available for trade from her. Is it possible that her trade inventory holds more stuff the happier she becomes? --Radnus 86.84.129.168 23:08, March 23, 2016 (UTC)

Disappear[]

Isabel disappeared for me, too (PC) after finishing the quest. With the moveto I was able to reach her, she was stuck in a small room where the doorway was blocked from the other side by a wall (the wall is the one at the end of the hallway where her room departs to the right). --217.225.203.169 01:52, March 27, 2016 (UTC)

In which case, she wasn't disabled, and given she seems to have multiple AI packages, waiting or sleeping in the cell for a few hours should reset her location... in theory. Can't test it, cos the bug didn't occur for me. Aya42 (talk) 02:10, March 27, 2016 (UTC)
Been there a couple more times now. Seems like she gets stuck in that room every once in a while, and sleeping/waiting inside the lair never brought her back for me, but traveling out and in can do the trick. --93.232.130.140 21:05, April 1, 2016 (UTC)
Hmm. Should work either way. If you reenter the location, or 'wake up' from sleeping, during the period she's usually sleeping, she should just 'magically' appear in her bed. No matter - at least it's not a permanent issue. Aya42 (talk) 19:10, April 2, 2016 (UTC)
If it's the room I'm thinking of, there is a switch out in the hallway that will open it up. It's hidden next to a drink dispenser / coffee machine looking thing. Mazda charles (talk) 05:46, June 8, 2016 (UTC)

MISC[]

In the bugs section someones listed a mod as causing hostility, is this necessary on the wiki since it's a modded issue? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Coll543 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

It's referring to a power armor helmet mod which exists in the base game. Aya42 (talk) 01:01, March 28, 2016 (UTC)
ah my mistake it come up as a mod when I looked it up —Preceding unsigned comment added by Coll543 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Child Portrait Is Not Isabel Cruz[]

The Child Portrait has been rumored to be a child of one of the development team and not to be related to Isabel Cruz at all. I don't think it is relevant to relate the Child Portrait to Isabel since it's most likely not her at all, and given it is a pre-war portrait... which is over 200 years old... Isabel wasn't in Vault 111 as that one is the only recorded Cryogenic Vault. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JorundShadefur (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

We often find that real life individuals are used as templates for in-game characters (dogmeat being one of the most commonly known ones). As for the picture being prewar, do we have confirmation that it is? We know the arts didn't die with the bombs as music still lives and art supplies would still be lying around/producible. Also who would hang a portrait of their child at child at work? Photographs certainly, paintings are more likely to be placed post war by displaced people.
I think until there is evidence that confirms this is someone else or there is a vote taken on if should stay we should leave it as is, even though it may be false. Sakaratte (talk) 12:33, February 18, 2017 (UTC)

there is one type of the mechanist's robots that we still have to make a page for the scrapbots (not to be confused with the junkbots because the scrapbots are separate enemies)
