Fusion Cores[]

Page history and my last edit indicated a Fusion Core by the lockers next to the elevator. This was reverted with the explanation that it is a 'random ammo drop'. The fusion core was not in the locker (container), but on a shelf in one of the lockers with no door. I was under the impression that this is not a container and therefore not a random drop?Riskyj (talk) 17:32, January 29, 2016 (UTC)

I find that hard to verify: "and one by some lockers next to the other elevator on the lower level." Where is that? There is an elevator taking you back upwards and out again through the chained door. No fusion core near the lockers there for me. The entrance to that room has an "Employees Only" sign. --Alfwyn (talk) 17:57, January 29, 2016 (UTC)
I think I found the cause of this, I did indeed find the right location. But the two ammunitions there (ref 0004A50A and 0004A50B) are DummyAmmo objects and draw their true form from a leveled list (XLIB field in the reference). So they will be different for different players. We had random items in the open already in Skyrim, unfortunately it makes verifying things for a wiki much harder. --Alfwyn (talk) 18:07, January 29, 2016 (UTC)
Indeed. This one became apparent when different users said they found different things there. The comment in the revert about the page history referred to a previous revert with comment, "The item in the locker is a random ammo drop. One person found a mini nuke, you found a fusion core, and I found a stack of three missiles."
In general, most, but not all, container contents are randomized, and most, but not all, placed objects are not. Point is, you can't infer whether an item is randomized or not, based solely on whether an object is placed, or in a container, on a single playthrough. Aya42 (talk) 18:16, January 29, 2016 (UTC)

Nuka Cola[]

The Nuka Cola Quantum here is another case of a dummy item (000928d5). There are around 800 random Nuka Cola bottles that have a chance to be a Quantum and around 60 placed Nuka Cola Quantum bottles in the world. --Alfwyn (talk) 15:19, January 30, 2016 (UTC)
