Move article to wikipedia?[]

IMHO we should write/encourage writing an article on wikipedia instead and link it from Nukapedia/TES wiki since the creation engine has a long history and is used by TES as well. Hexroom (talk) 08:59, July 6, 2015 (UTC)

3 things

  • First that is also Gamebryo case
  • Second creation engine is a heavily modified version of Gamebryo engine
  • Third we have pages for all engines so really it wouldn't make sense only having a link to Wikipedia Gaming Foxy 10:23, July 2, 2015 (UTC)

Sorry, I dont get point 1 and 2. And for the third point: "We always did it this way" is not an argument. I consider Creation Engine a generic game-independant engine, which is used for multiple projects. What is the benefit of covering it in a game-dependant wiki? We would just cause a lot of redundancy with TOS wiki (and probably future titles using it). Hexroom (talk) 08:59, July 6, 2015 (UTC)

We do not have any editorial control over other wikis, they may (or may not) meet our editing standards, and having an article here allows us to focus the article on the fallout implementation of the engine. Agent c (talk) 11:49, July 6, 2015 (UTC)

Article Re-Write[]

I re-wrote the article with a lot more information. I tried to focus on what makes the Creation Engine different than the older Gamebryo engines for the Skyrim section, then focused on the Skyrim to Fallout 4 changes for that section.

I also added small sections for the Creation Kit and Fallout 4 Creation Kit. I didn't think there needed to be a ton of information, but it seemed like they were integrated into the Creation Engine so they're relevant to this page, and there's no reason for an entire page dedicated to each.

I also created two new Wiki pages, Creation Kit and Fallout 4 Creation Kit, then redirected them here. That way anyone searching directly for those terms can get some information.

I don't know if the FO4 CK will get named something like G.E.C.K. 2.0 later. If so, it would probably be better to put most of the info on the current G.E.C.K. (editor) page and have a very small blurb linking to it at that point. And get rid of the Fallout 4 Creation Kit page (or at least change the redirect to the GECK page). 162.252.201.32 03:43, July 3, 2015 (UTC)

We had image used for the article. I added this image that I found through image search as it look more pratical, a black and white logo that fits with the wiki's current background. Which one is better/more pratical to you guys? --WranglerPig (talk) 16:12, July 13, 2015 (UTC)

I like the new (white) image better. It fits with the other 2 new Bethesda logos, Creation Kit and Bethesda Game Studios. Jspoel Speech Jspoel 20:41, July 13, 2015 (UTC)
I personally prefer the current black-on-white logo for the Creation Engine.
